SUZUKI SV650
Bridgestone BT-014s work exceptionally well on this model, providing a good balance of fast road riding with decent tyre life. The combination of light weight and relatively low power enable the tyres to work well without too much stress. Bridgestone's BT-020s are also approved for those riders who commute or just want to go touring and want to get even better milage, yet still offer more than enough grip for everyday road riding. Always fit standard sizes-there are no oversize options available.
Sizes: 120/60-17 Front (36psi) and 160/60-17 Rear (36psi)

It would be good if all manufacturers did this and suggested 1 or 2 tyres for each popular make of bike, imho.
So who has these on thier Sv then? And would you agree or disagree with the Bridgestone point of view.

I've tried both and would agree, though I personally dislike the wear characteristics of both and thought the BT014s were slow to warm up for supposedly sporty tyres.
My criticisms are mainly based on personal preferences, though.

I've got BT014's on my curvy, They transformed the handling, but thats because I got them to replace the original MEZ3's which were shocking.
To be fair if my dads GSXR1000 has them, I think they are more than adequate for an SV.
I think they are great, they have coped with a track day, but not sure the rear will last very long, but then again i do thrash it about everywhere.
I agree that sometime they take a while to warm up, but only when used for short commutes to work.
I will probably try something different next time just to see what other makes are like. Might go for the Avon Viper Sports next.
I had 6 rear and 3 front 020's. I found them pretty good and would agree with thier spiel(sp?)

BT014's have always warmed up pretty quick for me on both the Gixxer & the 'Blade. I ran a BT010 on the front and an 020 on the back of my SV, great combination. The 014 has replaced the 010 these days.
I'm now running Diablo Corsa's on the 'Blade, best rubber I've ever had.....

Bit confused now :?
I thought the pressures for 020's was 36 Front and 42 Rear?????
Anyone able to help????
Spidey,
Try the Metz Z6, A much better tyre that the 020 IMHO and they do get good reviews. I had them on my SV after the 020 and found them to be far more stable, would warm up qui9ck and generally insipred a little more confidence in both the wet and the dry.
I always thought that race tyres would heat up slower when riding normally on the road: aren't they made so that the operating temperature is higher than road tyres so they can cope better with higher temperatures you get when racing?
That would explain why the 014s work better on a blade: it's probably (and I know I'm generalising horrifically here...) ridden a bit harder than the average SV.

Me too :-s
I've been running 33F and 36R. I tried 36 front and rear and it was...er...interesting  I felt every ripple in the road and it squirmed on the tarmac joints

I have to agree with Northwind, They are very soft and don't last long at all. Also they square off really quickly.
The first 1000 or so miles is fun after that IMHO they go off and when they do so they go off very quickly.

Ive got BT014's front and rear and Im fairly content with them. The asphalt here in South Florida stays hot all year long so they warm up rather quickly for me. Ive had them for about 300 miles. They provide good grip but do have a tendancy to wear out rather quickly (maybe 5000mi) if you mistreat them. BT020's should last a bit longer but I stay away from harder compounds simply because the SV isnt overpowered and would take longer to warm up which could spell disaster.
