Pffffff, faster than any of us SV owners managed to get a few weeks back......

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gary.doggett/corsa%20does%2011s.wmv

Thats on a normal 2.0 16v, Throttle bodies (218bhp) and a bit of nitrous to give it 289bhp ON gas...

Not quite for your mums granny to use 8)

PVS - Performance Vauxhall day.

Im red, damn what a suntrap. Missed MotoGP though  Don't suppose anyone knows if its on NORMAL TV over the next week??

11.85 in a Corsa 8) I imagaine its quite tricky to get it off the line with that much power going through the front wheels. Do you get it rolling before you hit the N2O or just have it on from the off ?

Whats the fastest anyone managed on a SV on your trip to Santa Pod ?

TWO magazine managed 12.01 on a naked pointy.

That's quite rapid. To be fair, it probably cost a bit more than £4000 to achieve, but still- if I had that car, I'd never stop smiling :)

12.4 was the quickest at the SV day I think with a 107mph terminal.

Corsa Nitrous is on a switch so when at full throttle the nitrous is injected.

NW - Inc buying the car, maybe?

Basic Corsa - £500. Strip it at home.
Tyres £250 each i think, but has done as 12.2 on cheap street tyres.
Throttle bodies - oww, £2k new for basic kit, but can be got 2nd hand for about £500-£1000. Nitrous, about £300 and some setting up.

All in all, it runs a standar bottom end, but uprated pistons and valve springs, rod bolts etc.. Would say in terms of "tuning" though to make it goe fast, about £1500-£2000.

If it breaks, he just puts a new standard part on (like the gearbox the other week, £50 for a new F20 box).

That's a lot cheaper than I'd thought actually... How much is involved with the throttle bodies?

would that be why i saw about 20-30 corsa's coming up the M6 last night with numbers on the back windows?

i saw a DeLorean as well which was cool :D

There was a vauxhall show and another "modified" car show as well and they all finished about the same time so converved on the M1

NW - How much? Do you mean setting up or how much they improve an engines performance.

I've dropped him this link, never know, may seem him later. 8)

PS. a Ferrari Modena tried to go up on the day and got a 14 sec ood. Must be quite depressing after watching a corsa go in in the 11's

I was thinking specifically cost :) But also set-up time. I'm assuming you don't just solder them onto the stock loom ;)

Pretty much yeah... BUt you can get custom looms as well.

This is an in shot video. 4th gear with nitrous armed.

Picks up pretty quickly wouldn't you say (Redline is 8400rpm).

Really? So it's stock ECU etc? Colour me surprised.

Nooooooo sorry im with you now, not a stock ECU, im unsure on the actual make, but im "presuming" it to be a DTA system, or Jenvy or similar.

Not sure though. Can find out?

Nah, just curious. The last thing I need is a car to mod, I can barely afford the bike :) When I do get a car, I'm going to need to be careful and make sure it's so unglamorous and unlovable, there'll be no temptation.

My XR used to run twin 50's on a custom manifold with a on stage 4 head bolted to a 1700 bottom end bored, stroked, lightened and balanced to just over 1800. LIghtweight flywheel, moddified 5 speed gearbox. Always wanted Nos but never got round to it. As said before around 224hp at the crank on Power plus engineerings rollers about 200 at the wheels
