Hi guys,

I bought a cheap webcam from wal-mart while i was in florida and i can't get it working properly. Installing the software buggers up my keyboard so I tried uninstalling and using the windows installation wizard thingy. This got the cam working but the picture was green. I like she-hulk but looking like her online wasn't the plan. :P

So i tried various methods of unplugging it (USB) rebooting, etc and now it doesn't work at all. I'm not sure it's even being recognised as being there... :?

Will have to check the make and model when i get home if that's needed 'cuz i can't remember...

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Do you have a USB keyboard? And is it a USB2 device?

I've had the green thing happen when playing certain video files, caused by missing codecs. Not a webcam, but worth a try.

You could try this...

How old is your PC... is it USB1 or USB2?
Then check that the cam is usb1 or 2.
Failing that I would have a hunt about for the model on the Internet and see if you can find a UK version of the driver. The reason its green is probably cus windows don't know how it read the information it received correctly.
You could all just try to find the driver file off the 'CD' and use just that rather then all the other software that came with it. Though its a bit of a pain to 'instruct' you though.

It's probably lefthand drive — you should have thought of that before you bought it.

(That wasn't very helpful, was it?  )
