how to inst. this???

Hello

I BOUGHT THIS ITEM FOR MY SV650 '99 on ebay for 41euros

Now i have the next problem:

I cant undo my bike of the originals, because there is a revettebit (=bit you cant unscrew with a normal screwdriver) i think, so i would like to know, how can i get those origanl grills of (in particualar the bit underneath the back panels) and how will i be able to attache the new grills because i dont have a revette gun to put a new revette into it

all tips are welcome!!

Don't those panels just pop off when you remove the 2 screws?

after you remove the bolt that secures them it should swing out of the way so you could take the seat off, Mine isnt rivitted in, its got a plastic fitting of some sort that just pops out.

no, there are 3 places the grill is attached

1) right beneath the seat, with the V pointed plastick holders (just plug in and pull out, no probs with that )

2) is the mounting bit on the bike itself this 1 :

no probs either just unscrew this 1 with special key that you also can see on the pic

3)and then there is another 1also! look close to the pic and you will see the hole for it, this 1 is ttached to the back panels of your bike, with a special type of bit, that you cant unscrew like you want!!

PLZ any help is welcome!!!

Yup that bit just pops out mate. Well it does on mine and my mates

ah, ok you sure of it man?

so, i just have to pull it down and it will pop out? i wount brake anything??

and will i be able then, after pulling it out, to put the new grills on and just push the old bits back again in it??

Yes just pull it down it will pop out.

Yeah just try to pull down straight though

Look carefully at the plastic popper piece - you'll see there is a circle in the centre of it, using a screwdriver or Allen key press this in about 4-5mm and the whole thing will now pull straight out.
To refit, press the pin back until it sticks out of the front of the popper by 4-5mm, put the popper in place then press the pin back in until it is flush, it should click into place.

mine are only held on with the one allen key bolt.!!!
