I'm moving from Skye to Ayr next week and will be going up and down the M77/A77 every day to / from work. I remember about a year ago there were some posts on here about whether the cameras from Fenwick southwards could catch bikes - but I can't remember whetheranyone had been caught by them.
I doubt it, as they look like they're forward facing and lane specific, but can anyone confirm ? Not that I'll be speeding on such a twisty, poorly-surfaced road of course ....
Forward facing alright and no-one i know has been caught not on two wheels anyway.
Why are you moving to Ayr from Skye if you don't mind me asking?

Me and Jim lad went down via the A77 to Cairnryan for the NW200 and when we got to the ferry check in, we were talking to some of the local Cops, traffic I think and I mentioned the camera's and how we had stuck rigidly to the speed limits because of them.
The cop then said to me "why the concern since you are both on the bikes, these camera's definately only catch forward facing traffic"
They then had a wee chuckle amongst themselves :?

That's good news - shame I've done 3 trips so far at legal(ish) speeds when I was in a rush ........
My daily commute will now be the M77 - means I'll be home every night rather than just 3 nights a week (the main reason for moving). I'll miss zipping 220 miles up the A82 twice a week (apart from setting off at 5.30am and doing 3.5 hrs in the p*ssing rain !!!).
Might even catch up with some of you sometime. If you see a blue naked K5 parked at the bay in West George Street - it's mine (feel free to give it a wash !!!).

Definately lane specific and register the front plates of cars etc

That was the conclusion we reached last year. To be fair I've never ever known or heard of a car being caught by a specs camera but I'm sure it happens
