How about a calendar for 2007 of some of us lot and bikes.

Can split profits half an half between the site and a charity - perhaps disabled bikers??
Anyone up for it and show the SV rider site how it should be done!

Ps doesn't matter what type of bike - me thinks.

There should also have been a no option. - just post your opinions anyway

The idea's been thrown round a couple of times before. Last one I can remember is this (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=26136).

I was up for this when it came round before, but I no longer have an sv. Still think it's a great idea though

Hmm, I dunno. I much prefered my idea better. All the fellas sit back and perv - uh, I mean judge - the ladies' pics and say how wonderful you all look. The girls are happy 'cause they get lots of compliments and the fellas are happy 'cause they get to look at women all day. Everyone's a winner, see? But this calendar, well, us fellas are gonna have to put ourselves up for some serious embarrassment. And I don't like being embarrassed! I mean every time a girl comes up to me and asks me to autograph her chest because she thinks I'm Brad Pitt I can't help but go a little red  And it's...well...embarrassing!

i think i offered last time, but now heartily retract that offer! putting on half a stone in 7 days has done nothing for my already overly expanding waistline

i thinbk it's a good idea and definitely slpit the profits between the site and a charity

i don't think it should matter what bike you're on as long as you are on a bike and a member of the .org

Yer this idea was around last year as well, If someone wants to run with it and sort everything out im sure people would volunteer. There was a pic thread somewhere where people put there pics up to go in the calender.

I could do one with me and my crippled SV :(

Please note:

As when this idea came 'round previously, we declined the opportunity to get involved. If anyone wants to have some fun off their own bat, naturally that's fine, but SV650.org cannot sanction the publishing of any material that has the SV650.org logo and/or purports to be authorised by SV650.org.

The costs and organisation of putting together a calendar is far more work than most people realize, not only are there copyright permissions needed for every photo (with the requirement for a signed model release form), but print costs, design, distribution, and of course an opening and running of a bank account (particularly if the proceeds of any profits — should they actually be made — are intended to be donated to an agreed charity). It may sound a fine and fun idea, but please consider the realities involved. And your respect for our wishes not to be mentioned or directly represented would be most appreciated.

The forum administration don't wish to appear "party-poopers" but there are sober ramifications that we have duly considered in the past, and therefore prefer not to enter into, regarding ventures of this sort.

OK fair enough. I do still like the idea of pulling something together from the group - or doing something together for a charity of somesort.

Copyright - always remain with the photographer, forms are easy enough to print and completion on finalised product remain with them.
Model release forms - stack in house on paper and email.
Print cost - there are companies which work from the web that print on demand therefore can eliminate distribution, promotion costs.
many of us on the site probably have qualities/skills that would enable us to complete.
If it goes ahead then fine sv650.org will not be mentioned and I think therefore that neither will the site recieve any of the profits. Which as a whole defeats the whole purpose as we get told that it is our site we make it yet we can't fundraise and ensure its future.

Or at least we can't fundraise for it in it's name. I'll post further comment later - running out to wine & dine the lady Quedos...............

There enough interest admin surely it would benefit the site even just to use the name even in an unofficial way - the unoffical sv650 calendar not endorsed by Sv650,org in any way etc etc etc.
Pls think about it and pm with queries I'll try and answer If I can't then I'll admit defeat for raising money for the site!

Took part in a recent calendar event for a car site that i use, different marques of cars for the months, the other half and i were both involved in the organisation/pics for the "VAG" group photo shoot which went well, but the calendar ar a whole ended up being a nightmare!
Good fun overall though, and group pics gave us the chance to meet others and put faces to names 8)

I know it's not SV's.. but here's the kind of thing we done...

The girls of SVrider (The US version of this site) made a calendar thru CafePress who just print each one when it is ordered. They cost more that way, but at least you are not sitting on lots of unbought calendars.

We didn't sell as many as we expected to though.

IIRC the last round of donations we made raised more than enough money to keep the site running for a while. If you wanna help out with running the site then you and everybody else is more than welcome to make a donation through the paypal button the front of the site. But nobody should feel forced into doing so.

Personally I would rather see the money go to a charity that maybe everybody on the org could vote for.

Just my opinion of course.
