South Wales and Bristol(ish) people

Right, well following the success of Juicy Lucy's 'hello' thread I didn't know there were that many of us in this rough area.

So, some of us already meet on Thursdays at Roo Bar in Clifton, Bristol for a pint and something to eat on Thursday evenings about 18:00ish (I say WE, but I've not been for a few weeks - I'm there again from this Thursday though)

Here is a little map with the standard stomping ground that Haxsaw, Dr Rich (gone but not forgotten :lol: ), Anna, myself and of course the right dishonorable Valleyboy attend quite frequently.

Coming from the Bristol I normally go to Chepstow and, via a B road to Usk, I end up at Abergavveny then take it from there.

So now I know there are several of us in the vacinity anyone fancy meeting for a ride :?:

I'm getting new tyres on Saturday morning and breaking them in on my usual scrubbing in route to Minehead and then back via Cheddar Gorge on Saturday late morning/afternoon.

Welcome to keep me company if you want but bare in mind I'm scrubbing tyres in so not fast paced but there WILL BE a pace. I think Beenz is coming for it.

Anyone doing out on Sunday too?

Thanks to the decent lot at JHS (and an empty wallet), the red bug magnet now has some new Avon boots. Feels good already with only a few miles on em. Will have to reduce the chicken strips a bit more before I catch up with you lot though. :D

4K service is on Thursday so I'll be late at the Roo Bar, that place where stretchie used to hang out :lol:

Translated means OK I'm up for it, Sat / Sun..... :riding:

Beenz mate Saturday should be ok, I'll have got new shoes for the blue bug magnet that morning, won't even have any miles on them leaving my house cos I'm taking the wheels in for them..

Just out of intyerest mate could you PM me and tell me how much you paid fot the tyres and what you got. i.e. Front and back or just back Avon what's AV 45/46?

Can't make it this weekend for two reasons:-

1) going to a wedding on saturday so will probably be over the limit on sunday.

2) bikes in having the valve clearances checked and the carbs balanced.


Will hopefully make it next weekend tho'.

Right then, I have a 'THING' tomorrow night which means I have to be back at mine and preferably ready to leave at 18:00 which means I can't wait till 14:00-15:00 to leave for this Minehead scrubbing in lark, I will have to do it in the morning. got to do that Talgarth road without many if hardly any cars on it today :twisted:

did have one major scare though.. going round a corner, a bloke standing in middle of road slowing traffic down, as a bus had broken down... gave me a bit of a scare.. not an ideal place to have to put the anchors on!

Also, possible location for camping near the lake at Llangorse..... it has a bar nearby, so that sorts out most of our needs for camping.... now, if it were a 24 hour bar.. wouldnt even have to take tents... :lol:
