just recently had a problem with k4 pointy back cylinder not working, garage finnaly found problem and its the ignition coil.
has any one had problem like this on the same year of bike ? as the bike shop seems to think this is a regular fault with the 650's but iam not sure my self.

My K4 is at the dealer at the moment.
Started with jerking at full throttle and then started to
run on 1 cylinder.
It's been in the shop more than a week now and they still
haven't located the problem.
Could be the ignition coil but then again, could be just about
anything
Thank god for the 5 year warranty!!!

HI PERRA YOU ARE LUCKY I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY BIKE FOR NEARLY 3 WEEKS NOW, NOT VERY PLEASED AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT.
HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET 5 YR WARRANTY ON A 04 ? I ONLY GOT THE NORMAL 2 YRS (BUMMER)

Honda started with the 5 year warranty a couple of years ago
and the others soon followed their lead here in Sweden!
It is a 2 years full warranty and 3 years engine and electronics
warranty. The catch is that you must service the bike at an authorised
dealer all the time so i think it is a win-win situation for the dealers.
Jap bikes normally holds up very well!
On your K4 pointy what was milage before this problem?

i have a k4 and have done 7200 and had that problem about 2 weeks ago to three weeks to sort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks I pick up a new pointy next week, i'd better do 7200 miles in 2 years to make sure while still in warranty!
Ignition coils are not the sort of thing that go at a set time, I've had one go on a bandit at 32,000 the other's still going strong. They don't cost the earth and as far as I know they're not considered a particular weak point on the SV.
If it took 3 weeks to find it then the fault was either intermittent, or the garrage was seriously busy, the one on the bandit took about 30minutes to trace once it had given up the ghost.

SV ignition coils not prone to failure.
Unlucky.
Picked up my bike today :D
They couldnt pinpoint the exact problem but they took
the complete fuel injection assembly from their 06 demo
bike and put in on my bike and now it works.
I just hope it stays that way :?
My bike is a K4 bought brand new in juli 05 and has 3600km
on the clock(with a fuel injection assembly used only 500km  )
