Newbie to this forum, thought follow Kilted Gingers example and introduce myself with a new thread......

Not quite a new to biking, but back after a 11 year stint of needing a car to earn pennies, but not quite earning enough to run a bike as well.

Stay in Harthill (no I'm not religious and not a football fan, I just needed a cheap house!).

Just bought a new K6. Cupar Motorcycles, MO couldn't match the price and frankly didn't seem like they wanted to. Done 1500 miles in the first two weeks, partly thanks to a trip to Skye.

My Skye (and rest of bloody Highlands) trip was 26th May with guys from work. It ****ed it down all weekend. Two days, 800 miles and 16 hours riding later we thoroughly agreed with Quedos....torture! Took the last two weeks on holiday for my hands and wrists to recover! Love to hear how you guys got on on the 17th.

So hello everybody, nice to (kind of) meet you. Would be interested in a rideout any time to meet properly, so give us a shout if your'e organising and I'll keep an eye on these posts.

Quedos; I would very much like to come but i see two obstacles, I will be very slow and wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else. Cant get 600 mile service until July 11th and the way I'm going I'll be past that without a 150 mile ride on the 9th, (I dont know how important it is to not go over the 600 miles :?: )

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Hope to see you on the 9th July rideout. My diary kind of splits between my brain and my wifes, at the moment I can't think of anything stopping me. I'll post a reply on the correct thread for it.

Don't worry about that, someone's got to be slowest...

Having said that, when everyone else abandonded half the Irish crowd at Ballachulish services, who was it that escorted them to Tyndrum? Hmm? Hmm?

Hopefully that makes up for the time I got us lost. And also the time I got Matt the Loony lost. And the multiple times I got myself lost. And teh times when I got to where we were goign, but thought I was lost.

The moral is, don't follow me.

That would spoil all the fun then.

Kilted - you wouldn't be the slowest - I have that title though I'm iffy about the ride at the moment personal circ's changed

Don't worry about the mileage too much mate. I got nearer to 1000 before Cupar did mine and they weren't the slightest bit concerned. Might be worth (as I did) draining off the oil (with all the tiny "new metal" fragments in it) and changing that - it's the most important part of the 600m service. Don't worry about the filter - that'll be getting done at the service anyway.

You'll not spoil anyones fun - they'll all wait at a fag break and get longer to gas and puff. Come along mate you'll love it.

Warning - depressing stuff!!!

Mum got cancer (has for 10yrs) but just been in for operation and got told told yesterday has sufferedd kidney failure so its touch and go. the ultrasound yesterday showed that the kidneys don't have any major damage but still waiting for the final test. She'll be going for her 3rd dialysis this morning. Hopefully things will be fine but just don't want to let anyone down if I'm called away.

But apart from that I'm hoping to pick up the bike 2moro

The good news is that's she on the mend and fighting back.
She was awake and talking. which is a great improvement, she's not aware of the past two days but by 2moro we'll know more re the damage. At the moment signs are v good towards none or viturally no damage to kidneys. Doc's reckon she'll be in for poss a fortnight but they transfer her from renal ward back to the cancer ward soon (just to see how the operation went and what's next on the cancer front which ain't nothing new)

So it all smiles and stuff :D :D :D :D
She' not quite :crutches: but when she is we'll all know about it!

Rideout is back on definately gonna be the slowest pick up tomorrow!!! :riding:

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Not a nice subject but helped me cope a little better
Hug to you all :grouphug:
