I've got Gilles rearsets on my K5 but can't get the rear brake pedal to sit low enough.

As it is its uncomfortable to lift my foot onto and then the brake's too sharp, either brake on or brake off.

I can't adjust it in the normal way as it is as low as it can be without the brake binding on.

Only solution i can think of is if the part that has the thread and locking nut (sorry, don't know what its called) is shorter on another Suzuki model and can be swapped over.

Anyone done this / know if its possible?

Chop a bit off the bottom of the "bolt"?

I would then have to drill a hole for the pin to go through. How hard is it to drill through a round object? Bear in mind i don't have any fancy tools.

Quite hard :) Don't think mine has a cotter pin though, just 2 nuts.

If there's no adjustment left then the adjuster needs to be shorter, so yes.

Chop a bit off the bottom of the "bolt"?
And fit a Nylock nut instead of the split pin
