We start this month's report with news of a plan hatched by the European Commissioners to restrict bikes to a single cylinder with a capacity not greater than 650cc. Coupled to this would be an automatic gearbox in an effort to reduce emissions...
Take a look here (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?ArticleID=3435&Page=1).

I suspect it wont get anywhere near implementation if the BMF conclusion is correct and its based on errors

You have to remember Germany has BMW, Italy has Aprilia, Ducati, Benelli etc we have Triumph. There is a very strong lobby for motorcycles from these countries so Id say the proposal has very little chance of implementation if Germany, Italy and the UK lobby against it.

Aye, cars may be much worse BUT there are a hell of a lot less voters who ride bikes than drive cars..............
this was in the BMF "Rider" magazine this month and i believe this was a paragraph written in some energy research paper by an EC idiot who hasn't even sat on a motorcycle in his life, i wouldnt' worry about it.
no doubt it'll be in MCN next week though as "all bikes to be banned!"
