Here in London we've got the first heavy rain after a dry spell. This always means that diesel and other slippery gunk that has soaked into the road now rises up and floats on the wet surface. Slippy, slidy wet roads are evil. Be careful, everyone.

Yep it's horrible out there. Just had to give the wife a lift to work as the battery was dead on the Sv. She is not impressed with the pillion seat on the Triumph!!! Muttering words along the line of it's like wearing a ***** thong I'll get the bus home!!!! No pleasing some people. Didn't have the heart to tell her, her back was covered in crud off the road

Which Triumph? Mrs Wyrdness won't even get on the back of my Speed Triple.
The North Circular was a river of diesel in some places this morning. And there seemed to be some new potholes around too - a couple of which I hit fairly hard. Fortunately Pilot Powers grip really well in the wet.

Bright sunshine in the west coast of Scotland, t-shirt weather today and yesterday. Could sunbathe if you were into that sort of thing. I'd go out on the bike but alas...I have none (no working one)

I've just twigged why we've got horrible wet weather in London today, after several dry weeks. It's the first day of Wimbledon. Might have known.

Got a 955i Daytona, good job I haven't got a 675, that pillion seat is like a razor blade.

Yeh, start of Winbledon is either guaranteed rain or the begining of a drought.
Totaly agree with the nasty rainbows on the roads but i actually enjoyed the rain on the way in this morning. It wasnt too heavy, little wind and not cold at all.
The best rainy day you could hope for imho.
Having said all that i hope its dry for the ride home.

Or, in the case of Thames Water, both

You need to save your pennies anyway!!!
The new potholes happen because of the surface of the road expanding in the hot weather, thensuddenly contracting when the cooler and wetter weather arrives, causing surface cracks(which is why the gritters were about spreading sand on the roads yesterday afternoon). The water then gets into the cracks, easts away at the layers below the wearing course on the road, and voila, you have the start of a pothole...
I'll get me coat... TAXI!!!
