I'm after some adjustable rearsets for my curvy. The standard ones have been fine until now, but now I need to raise them up and back slightly. I'm losing plastic on my toe sliders but not my knee sliders, and something has to be done about it! I'm thinking of doing some trackdays and more clearance would help me alot I feel.

Proper rearsets can be pretty pricey but you can get some jack-up plates from Busters for about £50-60 inc. new shift rod. Had these on my curvy till I binned it and snapped one, had grief with the brake light switch so fitted a Goodridge hydraulic one. The plates have a selection of holes for the stock footpeg assys to fit onto.

Without being cheeky, most people who're dragging their toes have them sticking out ;) Cheaper to move your feet than to buy bits, if that's the case...

Thanks for that bobit, I might get those.

Northy, yes, I do have my toes sticking out, but having the pegs further back will mean I can put the balls of my feet on the pegs without feeling awkward like I do now. Plus the pegs, for some reason, don't feel right anymore. I can't explain it, but I feel a little cramped now whereas I didn't before. I know my riding style has changed drastically this Summer, maybe that's why?

I'll try those jack plates. For £30, It's worth a go.

Yep, makes sense that... I couldnt get comfy again with the standard pegs after my break (from riding, and from walking ;) ) but with the raising plates, even though it should be less comfortable it's actually more natural feeling and relaxed. And I still get my toe down :)

I think I'm going to go for the jack up plates rather than full rearsets. I don't really want to mess around with brake switches, nor do I want to pay £300 for Gilles. I think I'll compromise and get adjustability for not much cash. If it's too uncomfortable/doesn't feel right, I haven't lost out on too much cash.

Thanks for the replies  I have a much better idea of whats available now.

If you don't mind waiting a bit, I plan to get Woodcrafts once I sell one of my guitars... So then I'll have a set of jack-up plates for sale. Could be a while though.

The one that's got to go is a japanese Fender Strat... Got 2 of those, I never play either so one's got to go. Also an old korean Squier Tele which I love, and a rather nice wee Crafter travel acoustic that's about the same size as a Les Paul. Doesn't sound as good as a good, full sized acoustic, but not far off. Oh aye, and a Warwick Rockbass Corvette (or is it a Steamer? Can't remember)

But I really don't play enough to justify them all. Or, in fact, more than one ;)

Billy: I do like those. How far back/up do they go over stock?

Northy: I too don't play my guitars, but I can't part with any of them. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio, Ibanez JS100, Mexican Fender Strat Special, Crafter semi-acoustic and a Vester Maniac 5-string bass. I haven't picked one up in ages, but I can't get rid of them.

I had the valter moto jack up kit fitted and they where 1in back and 1in up now fitted the rear sets and they are 1in up and 1in back further than the jack up kit so 2in back and 2in up and loads of ground clearance
