Had a quick look with the search function but didn't see anything....

got bumped by a white van man on my way to work today

my akrapovic can is now dented, luckily the only damage - can these be repaired or do i have to shell out for a new can? the damage is on the sleeve, perhaps resleeving? i thought about pulling the dent too but not sure if that will give nice results, never seen it done before.

ok i've just bought a repack/resleeve kit for £134 :D better than the can at £349!

though i was tempted by the new style akrapovic can at just over £400 including the new loop strap...

Yikes. £134 eh. Is yours road legal? Can pick up 2nd hand as new cans off ebay for £120, could have sold yours on for £50.

P.S I didn't just make that suggestion, don't worry.

i got it from performance parts - apparently the official importer for akrapovic to the UK. funnily another shop seemed to have no idea of the existence of any such repack/resleeve kit (i have it in my hands now!).

i did look on ebay but couldn't be sure any of the cans would fit, though it looks like most would (fairly standard looking fitting). i probably should have waited and found one on ebay, but mine will be as good as new after this - i've got everything bar the ends in this kit, i think! oh btw it's road legal - does that make a difference? i do want to *keep* it road legal so that ruled out all the race cans i saw...

i was sorely tempted by shelling out a smidge over £400 for the new shape can though and fitting that  as it looks awesome and they don't do it for the sv yet!
