Can anyone give me a rough idea of how long I need to remove the lowers on my pointy?
I'm intending to do the 4k oil change etc this week and was wondering if I could do it in an evening...
I'm assuming I need to remove the lowers to change oil and filter?

I have my 12,000 coming up, so if I understand correctly I am looking at 5 minutes to remove my lowers, 5 minutes for the oil and filter change. 5 minutes for the rear plug, 2 minutes for the air filter and 6 hours of cursing getting to the front plug!

The front plug's not that difficult, just be prepared for grazed knuckles from the back of the rad, and to be surprized by how much sh*te you find in the front plug tunnel if you ride in all weathers.

I found the best way was to use a paddock stand, drop the fairings onto a soft mat (front door mat does the trick!) and move backwards. This should leave enough space without having to split the fairings or risk scratching them taking them out.

i found that the plug spanner in the sv tool kit was the best one to use to get the front plug out, just watch you dont damage the plastic crud guard between the headstock and the radiator, like i did.

4K service completed!
Took about 2 hours from putting the bike on the stand to putting the tools away.

The lowers come off a lot easier than expected, (previous experience was a GPz that had the 'filler' section between upper and pan  ) but I couldn't slide them back enough to be out of the way, pulling the whole lot out one side seemed easier.
