Now all I need is a hugger, a double bubble and some kind of end can - although Im still not sure about chopping the link pipe. Think I might scour around for a 2nd hand link pipe, K3 onwards will fit wont it?

Nice, I have been toying with the idea of getting a belly pan but I am still not sure if they suit nekkid bikes.
You mean a full system rather than a link pipe, why don't you want to chop the pipework. If I can do it and not mess it up so can anyone.

IMHO the pointy SV looks a bit unfinished without one. Which one is that? It looks good. That's a lovely colour bike. I haven't seen an SV in that colour before. It looks bluer than the older silver bikes.

I added a belly pan to mine and it just finishes the pointys off... They look very naked without them bu look racey with one on.

Villlers - Looking good, a rear seat cowl would finish it off. :)
Do buy some autosol and touch up the downpipe every week. Nothing looks worse than a rusty downpipe on the sv's. And don't look after it and it'll go that way in 4 months.

Cheers lads!
The belly pan is straight from suzuki, fitted by the dealer today and I paid for it through my 0% finance deal! I hated riding the bike without it on, was strange having a new bike that I wasnt proud of and Id tell everyone I was waiting for the bellypan! The bike is a K6 and its colour is supposedly silver, I think its more a pearl metallic - or as one ******** at work called it 'Baby Blue'
As far as the exhaust goes I'd feel better if I had a second link pipe to butcher and stick an aftermarket can to. Im not after any performance gains, but 'you know the score - make that bike roar' lol.
Instigator, I just noticed how dull those pipes are, In my defence Ive covered 200 odd miles today in a mix of rain and wind on motorways and filthy back roads so they aint that bad. Either way though, point taken, Im not riding the CBR anymore, time to start taking care of it!
The rear cowl is next, I couldnt see them on the suzuki website, they are only sixty odd quid I think.

Dude, has the guys house opposite had a gas explosion? theres a whole lot of mess in his garden!

You know I think exactly the same thing. But I have to say, that bike looks better with than without.
The colour is very nice and the pan looks good.
Garage clear out required
I'm in a similar situation. I took delivery of by red 650 K6 on the 16th and am waiting for the lowers and a hugger in red. I have already fitted seat cowl, dark screen, small indicators (from Heine Gerricke - brighter than originals and NOT led),Evotech tail tidy and small number plate. The fairings and hugger are supposedly on back order. Just need a nice can and then it looks like I will be sorted....:-)

cheers lads, and yeah the garage is a right state - thats the problem of living with my folks!
The house opposite has been building an extension for the last few months, the ******** turned up with a JCB and a big tractor the other day and dug his garden out. He blocked the road for a day and covered it in cobbles and about an inch of mud. Im at the end of my tether with him to be honest.
I still fancy a new can, a seat cowl and a double bubble.
There was only three colours to pick from and I thought that not many would go for the silvery blue, the day I picked it up the bloke from the shop said he had sold another off the back of mine sitting in the showroom. I told him to tell people it was no longer available!

Looks nice with the bellypan that does.
Don't worry about cutting your pipe. It really is straight forward to do. I'm not good at mechanical stuff and I managed to do it OK. Measure twice cut once. I got given a good tip. Get a jublee clip and put that on the pipe where you have measure it to cut it. Use the jubliee clip to give you a nice straight edge on the cut and it'll stop the blade from slipping.
Have a look at F Fabbri ( sp ) Screens they are the nicest ones I have seen and are very effective to. As for a seat cowl. Gotta be the Suzuki one. Oh and do something about the plastic montrosity on the rear of the bike to

Neighbours got the builders in? Just a touch the annoying gits!

I know thats a very popular choice on here but at the moment but I just don't hate the back end THAT much at the moment, maybe its the new owners syndrome or something but I can live with it. I need a smaller plate though.

What tyres have you got on there they look different to the K5 model original tyres

I think they are michelin pilot sports. The K6 came with some dunlops D220's I think. Their reputation preceeded them, and when out I had no confidence to do anything. Confidence was a premium already as I had been involved in an accident a few months before I got the SV. The only thing to do was to change them, one less thing to worry about!
PS Set of dunlop 220's for sale, 400 miles, make me an offer!
