Factory prepared muck? What ever happened to the carefully prepared meal with the gentle blending of fresh herbs and spices. Tut the common folk of today. :?

You lot on a sponsorship from Tesco or something?

They make £2,2billion in profit without your help. I think thats plenty.

yea u do-

I have 2 beef curries in my balti dish ( acquired from my pub days !)

I also like--
the:
Fish pie
shepherds pie (but asda is nicer)
the big yorky pud with sausages in
lasagne
its all nice...

for a quick meal of course
I dont reccomend living on them as a staple diet.!

Lissa

Do they still do the sausages with mustard mash?

That was lovely!!!!

The big Yorshire pud is OK but you cant stick it in the microwave and takes forever in the oven so no good as a quick meal.

Thats about your norm innit-

This is an escape from the norm.. ie: real life... I have enough depth and meaningful conversation in reality ...

was just a giggle -

When went through your mind when you saw a thread headed with tesco beef curry?

I was surprised it was as deep as it was, all i was expecting was, yummy, yuk or i found a stag beetle inside and it had eaten it all.

ok I will make a concession here. One of my few allowances to my former life back in Blighty,is to pick up a PATAK curry paste every now and then. Add your own bits and bobs and you come up with an ace meal. :P

Quiff Wichard

see- what an interestind and DEEP thread this has turned out to be Keith..

could even move onto what is your fave quick meal..

I love stuffing on toast on a monday !... mmmmmm its nice..

i hadnt done the "big shop" the other day - and said to Kimwe have got nothing in...

she looked said- sit down.. and made a fabbo meal .! I wudda just had ham sandwich- but we had a wonderful home made carbonara.. mmm

made me think of a TV show.. idea- u know when a chef comes round and makes an ace meal outta just what u have in.. .. chefs are ace . all those whipped sugar cradles etc....

SO-
WHATS YOUR FAVE QUICK BITE IF U HAVE 'NOWT IN..!

i always turn to a couple of weetabix.. fills me up, mm think I will take some to ar06..

OOOO

my gran ( who is now 96) makes the best chips and egg in the whole world !!....

however- u just dont have to look at her pan- or it wud put u off..
tastes brilliant..

she appears in the doorway of the kitchen coming through the smoke like Kurt Russell in backdraft.... but carrying prize winning chips and egg instead of a baby ..

Well in the movie Shirley Valentine you will recall it became known as, "Chips and friggin egg" by a disgruntled hubby who was used to having steak on that particular day of the week! :P

well i hoped it might be a disclaimer saying the author had tried said curry and it gave him chronic indegestion and it kept him off work for a few days and for us all to avoid it.

Lissa....So you don't like childish cheese then? :?

Lissa
05-07-06, 04:43 PM
:D Peter.

I like cheese, of virtually any variety, but really good cheese on toast needs a strong-flavoured cheese to compliment the Worcester sauce :D

Damn, got the munchies now

Tesco used to sell an amazing Cheddar with caramelised onions....I don't normally like these funny "blends" but this was great with a lump of bread and a glass of cold cider, or in cheese-on-toast form.

I bought kilos of the stuff but it seems to have faded from view in my Tesco.

I do love a bit of cheese myself tbh. I am a fan of all manner of textures and tastes. Although I cannot bare the Spanish Manchego cheese as it can be as dry as carboard unless eaten togethr with a nice piece of Jamon Serrano. I am not a big fan of really pungent smells from cheese either. Of course Quiff would understand more about that kind of thing than me.

my uncle owns a cheese factory and u woudnt eat the cheese they re process-- .. slice the mold off.. before grating and bagging for many well known supermarkets.. and it gets a new date on !!..

oh and all the slops and crud and scrapings off the floor- the mould and the ransid cheese all gets collected in a lorry ... and goes to a company that make.........
........ make up.!! tis true
