Hi All,

Just bought a 2001 SV650S in metallic blue so where better to hang out.

Have just sold my Yammy RD400 which I completely restored. It was great fun but took up too much of my time fiddling and repairing. My only other 4 stroke was an NTV650 V twin, I loved the engine characteristics so much I just had to have another so here I am. My first bike was a '79 metallic blue Suzuki X1 so it's good to be back riding another great Suzuki motorcycle.

I haven't done many miles on her as yet, I'm on the Isle of Wight if anyone is nearby?

Welcome, Mike.

The Isle of Wight, eh?

Didn't think you COULD do many miles on there without falling off the edge :D

Welcome!

Isle of Wight! I sail across to there regulary from the Hamble - fraid I won't be able to meet for a ride out, unless I take the push bike

My other half had an NTV too, he's very nostalgic about it.

Stingo, we a have a rich heritage of wrecking and smuggling on the island. You should have come here a couple of hundred years ago you'd have been in your element

The NTV is a great all year round bike. I think the styling at the rear could have been improved (like the BROS or American Hawk) but it got me to work and back every day for 3 years without missing a beat and stood up extremely well to Winter salt. The SV was bought as dry weather fun bike but may have to be pushed into commuting if needs must. I'm hoping SV's are as reliable as I've heard.

Haven't fallen over the edge, yet, but we do have some great roads to the South and West and some big rallys too.

thanks

Mike
