View Full Version : Donkey jailed
From today's Times (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,7-2254301.html).
"Proof that the law is an ass comes from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. A donkey used in demonstrations against “unmotivated and mulish” local authorities was arrested on the orders of a judge and kept overnight in police cells. The animal has been freed, but controversy over its custody continues. Police are suing the protesters for animal cruelty. They, in turn, have countersued. The owners of the donkey plan to sue both groups."

Nice ot see blame/compensation and the PC culture has hit India - it must have been all that out-sourcing from the West!
A couple of other interesting stories there too - the reversal of the Witchcraft ban in Zimbabwe, although I found the story on pain more interesting. Would a man really tolerate more pain if applied by a 21 year old woman in skirt and high heels?

You know I live in the land that encouraged so many holidaymakers to return home with a toy donkey under their arm. But the sad thing is you hardly see the lovely creatures these days. I think that is a real shame as they really are a nice animal. 8)
I dunno, hoofed out for getting the trotts.

I suppose this curry 'd no favour with the authorities? No doubt one could get saddled with a bad name after an affair like this.
