ok the situation is, that after i got my end can dented and resleeved it, i didn't resleeve it very well - whoops. it looks ok but isn't as neat as a factory finish, which obviously uses machines or something!
so, looking at buying another end can from ebay, for cheap, and selling my old one on (it'd be perfect for a track bike, for example - just repacked!)
searching the site for stuff on the link pipe diameter - i've since decided the sv needs the 54mm as opposed to 62mm version - i cam across this thread http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=19058 and embee's response is what interests me. when pulling apart my can, i noticed the exhaust is what is described as an absorbtive type (pedantic mode: i think he means absorptive) hence meaning that i have a much greater chance of another bike's end can working on my akro system.
the only thing i need to consider appears to be the amount of packing in relation to size of cylinders (i presume this is in reference to the punch each cylinder will put through the can). would the size of a 4 cylinder thou (250cc/cylinder) be enough to compare to the 375cc cylinders on the sv?
oh and whilst you're all here :D do the shapes of the akropovic end cans vary much? they all look the same size and shape (which is great for me!)
