Hiya

Does anyone have an breathing filter thingymibob in their lids? I'll be doing a bit more commuting soon and have an Arai Astro. Just wondering if it exists/works/is comfy before finding a supplier?

Thanks, Claire

I've got a Foggy Respro mask in my lid. Its not designed to work as a filter more as a shield to stop you breathing on your visor and fogging it up.

However it does IMHO a good job of filtering the air I breathe. I remove it from the lid every now and again to wash it and its always black with road dust and grim when I do.

I use a proper Respro filter - works great.

It is pretty comfy, except for the sweat!

What else do you want to know?

why not just get a pack of the industrial white filters and wear em under your lid ?

you know, the white disposable jobbies,

ive got a proffesional respirator, but i think thats a bit overkill to be honest.

Because they would not exhale the wet air very well......?

I just breathe in the clean london air. Im claustophoc enough as it is in a full face lid.

Get an open face, I did because of the heat and I love it, with a respro mask. I know the protection is not as good but it is so comfortable, just like aircon :-)

OK till you actualy need it!
my last biggy was a few years a go. 1st thing to hit the ground was my hands, right broken wrist, left broken arm.
next was my chin, ricked neck for a few days but i`m still as handsome as ever
lid went in the bin. big scratch marks on chin + i did bouncing bomb impression! hitting back of it.
obviously your choice, but i really wouldn`t wana come off with an open face lid on.

I can't get on with Respro masks, not with my Arai anyway. It's never in teh right place and it's incredibly uncomfrotable when it is, sticks in all over the place. The HJC came with one like it and it worked a charm. Both had a wide open section though, they sealed around the top but just took in air from the bottom.
