Well as the perks of my job, i got preview/private screening of POTC2 last night. We got the whole of screen 2 at Guildford cinema to my company!!!
I thought the film was brilliant, Johnny Depp returning as the spectacular Jack Sparrow... sorry Captain!! Jack Sparrow!! Deffinately got my thumbs up :D. Worth seeing for those of you who want a cheesy laugh, and a must see if you loved POTC1.
Has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts (without giving the game away for those who haven't seen it)?

I work for Vivid Imaginations (www.evivid.co.uk), as an operations executive. We make toys, so all the marvel stuff (spiderman xmen etc), and the POTC stuff is made by us, therefore free cinema tickets :D
I'm incharge of the shipping and well erm... operations.

Not at HG anymore then 'Nooshi?
I can! She's a buck toothed stick insect.

I find women of all shapes and sizes attractive, but she is just to thin.
SHe needs to put some weight on for sake of her health. Aren't there rumors about her being anorexic ? looking at that pic I'd say she is.

Well I'm definitely gonna see the film now. Hadn't seen any reviews but was keen for it to get a thumbs up as I loved the first one.
I feel really sorry for Keira Knightley. I'm as thin as she is and eat like a horse. Lardy people always think it's okay to make ref to various eating disorders if you're on the slimmer side.

Not really, you don't look unhealthy, she looks like shes just escaped from Auschwitz
But you get my point. The tables have turned. It's so un-pc to call any larger person "fat" these days but have a couple of bones protruding cos you've got a fast metabolism and everyone feels it's their right to comment. I get it all the time - and like you said - I don't look that unhealthy.
Rant over.
Sorry didn't mean to offend I one.
Like I said earlier, I found her really attractive in the first film but was shocked when I saw that picture, as I'm sure she never used to be that thin.
I'm not lardy either
No offence taken at all :D

just saw it last night. I thought it was very good, maybe not quite as brilliant as the first one, but still very funny, great Depp acting, and great fishy cgi bits! Very obviously a middle of a trilogy though, as the ending just sort of ends....
Would recommend it though.
But M&S do Pirates of the Caribbean lollies. I spent yesterday afternoon sitting at my desk licking Keira Knightley!
Don't mean "licking Keira nightly"?
I think she looks a tad too slim, too. But she's very young and might just have lost a bit of "puppy fat".....

Nah... too skinny. Holywood image consultants strike again.

Remember the classic line in Bend it like Beckham when her mum says "what boy is going to want to go out with a girl who has bigger muscles than he has?"
Heard discussion of the film on the radio so I shouldn't be giving anything away, went something like this...
Radio: Bill Nighy plays Davy Jones, half man half octopus....
Thinks: OK so far
Radio: ...a man so hurt in love....
Thinks: Poor bloke
Radio: ...that he has torn off the offending organ....
Thinks: WHAT!!!!!! This is Disney for God's sake
Radio: ... and buried his....
Thinks: NOOOOOOOOO.....
Radio: ... heart in an iron chest....
Thinks: ah... yes of course, how silly of me...

A bit long.
Some of the audience was getting restless after 2 hours.
Needed the loo too. Shouldn't had a drink beforehand. Hate missing a second after paying.
I thought it was pretty good
It was long but I didnt seem to notice it, the film was good but the ending was unexpected, just like a sudden cut off. Will have to wait till next year to see the other half of it.
Saw it last night, feel cheated!
I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Fantastic. Didnt even notice it was 2 hrs 30 long. Verna jumped out of her skin twice, screaming both times...which made me chuckle :D
As for Kiera...hmmmm, i'll take two, dont wrap them, i'll wera them home :D

going to see it this week with the kids. they also want to see Garfield 2 and one about a young james bond type. they are spending a week with their dad so he can take them to see those ones. he likes to take them to cinema then pizza hut (everytime he sees them) which guaranteed is not often

the first 30 minutes are brilliant. after that it goes down hill.
and what is it with hollywood, it seems to be fashionable to have a badly thought out ending. its like they just said "that'll do". and sent it to press.
and whats with the bring everyone back from the first one. half the people were captured pirates....they should be dead. i found their inclusion detracted from the film rather than adding. and as for the reincarnation of *************** (plot spoiler) at the end. it ruined the film.
and why did it have to be so dark. the first one took a light hearted giggle at the living dead. was class. this one was really sinister. it didnt fit well. apart from that Cpt Jack Sparrow was class.
i wish i'd left after the canible island.

Totally agree with you on all accounts there! Loved it!

Its often the case with a middle film when the third is on the way. Viewed after the third you may see why the film has ended where it has this time and it make more sense.

Tbh I really didnt care that much they bought them back. Kind of ties the two films in together quite well I thought.
Btw, if youre going to put a plot spoiler in how about put it in the post title, or at the beginning of the paragraph? Bit pointless saying plot spoiler AFTER youve mentioned it.

I guess you are the only one who hasnt enjoyed it. Personally I dont think its as good as the first but its still enjoyable and has its moments. Though I suspect you probably wont be going to see the third when it comes out from the above.

thats why i put the **** in, so it isnt obvious. (ok.....too, obvious)
i will go see the third, cos i wanna know what happens. Like i say, the end ruined it mostly. the other bits were niggles. the beginning bit was excellant. and i know they leave it *like that* so you come back to see the third. but it - for me at least - spoil the feeling of the second film in the process.
the third one i hope will be better.

 chill. despite the ****** it is kind of obvious - or maybe thats just to me as I would have got it from the bit preceding the ******* even if I hadnt seen the film.
I know what youre getting at though its left uncleanly finished as a story in its own right and you need the third to actually finish this one off properly.
I agree with others on here that it was good, but not as fantastic as the first one. Some good acting and some very funny bits but also some niggles. I thought Keira Knightley, although looking lovely, was quite rubbish. Or not necessarily her but her character. I won't spoil the plot but her character did some unexpected things. I kind of agree with Paulthewitt about it being dark - the undead in the first film was good and made sense but I think they've taken it too far! If I was young it would have scared me the way some of them look!

She must have stolen some of the gold in the first film- but don't worry, she only looks like that in moonlight.
