Hi All
Very new to biking, having never ridden before june, hoping to do my test soon. Was looking at bikes. Originally wanted a honda hornet, but then decided an SV650s would be better for me. Got one on ebay a 2001 k1 with 28000 miles and full history in candy blue, has the rear hugger, and the front guard extension fitted. absolutely delighted. I do have a couple of questions im sure youll be able to answer
1. After the engine has been running for about 15 mins I get a couple of drops of coolant from the pipe that goes around the clutch cover, have followed this pipe to the top of the filler neck, is this ok as it just looks like an overflow, (coolant very clean maybe overfilled???)
2. On the suzuki website, under accessories they have what look like crash bungs (frame protectors) but not for K1 models, I think the suzuki ones look the nicest I have seen, and very reasonably priced. Will the later ones fit?
Hope you can help, hope to see some of you around
Thanks
Stu

Hello!

I can tell you now that Suzuki crash bungs are about as effective as a chocolate tea pot. I've got R&Gs, however I'm sure there will be other people who can recomend other brands that'll do the job so you can decide.

Poss should be in the Ts & Qs section, but I guess the first thing to check is to see if the water is on its mark. If high this could be the cause

My first bike too, and, yes they are ACE :D :D

Good luck

welcome.

the two brands that generaly get recommended for frame slider/crash protectors are R&G's or motosliders.

Are you on about those pipes?

Just breathers aren't they? Used to leave stains on the exhausts and on my drive if I remember correctly. Nothing to worry about though I don't think.

Or are you on about a completely different pipe?

No. Coolant and fuel overflow pipes.

Wow mine used to leak all the time. I mean it was always leaving spots about the size of an old 50p coin on my parking space. Doubt it was fuel so must have been coolant but it was clear. I can only assume it was some sort of condensation that builds up in the pipe?
