View Full Version : The mods to my bitchin' pride & joy. Hate the bungs!!!
Got some teeny clear indicators for my bike. (Had the garage put them on)
Got some crash bungs so I don't damage the fairings when a taxi/white van/mobile phone user knocks me off my bike (Again th garage)
And finally got a Red Fox Rear Hugger that I put on myself.
Indicators:

Bungs:

Rear Hugger:

The only "problem" is the bungs really make my bike look hideous - they hide the nice lines! And I keep knocking my knees on them when riding!
I dunno you just can't please sone people ;o)

no they live in London
Um, yeah - I'm a bit crap at cornering, hence the bobbles still on the outer edge of the tyres!
Thinking of getting a lesson from one of the schools to improve my ability in the corners.
no they live in London and.....plenty of roundabouts etc :D

Can't see nothing wrong with the bungs - they look OK to me. Wassa problem?

I keep knocking my knees on them at traffic lights - I'm getting well bruised. I can't stretch my legs any more.
Also, cosmetically they spoil the lines of my bike!

HE'S ALIVE- he enjoys his riding and he goes around corners!!.. just cos he dont lean over and get his knee down .... is that a case for pee take!..
sorry but it annoys me-
I have chicken strip.. i corner quite well.. and i tell you this I corner WITHIN my ability- if that means chicken strips then so be it.
or would you rather meet me head on round a bend one day when i pushed it a bit cos someone laughed at my tyres and I feel the need to get them down to the edge.!
nice mods, nice bike- bungs look ok mate and you ride how you want to- have fun and be safe.. .. enjoy your biking.

Nice mods, the bungs look alright but that's probably cos I'm use to them sticking out on my bike.

Just do what I do and don't take close ups of the back tyre, or may I suggest some sandpaper.

They do save you a lot of £££ though in case you crash it
I have the bungs on mine as well, I don't actually notice them on mine anymore.
I don't think they look that bad.
As for chicken strips, I have a mate who has been riding for thirty years and is very very fast through the twisties. But if you looked at his back tyre you would never guess.
Chicken strips do not always mean a slow rider.

They certainly do ............. as I found out on Sunday
Nice mods by the way

HE'S ALIVE- he enjoys his riding and he goes around corners!!.. just cos he dont lean over and get his knee down .... is that a case for pee take!.. Actually if you get yourknee down there is a greater chance of still having Chicken strips :P
sorry but it annoys me- Hadn't Noticed :P :P

quiff it's a long standing ****take in the biking fraternity. and it is just that  A ****take , usually aimed at those that purchase the best handling bikes on the market, then don't use the bike to it's full ability. (probably because after spending so much , they fear the repair costs :P )
it's by no means a measure of riding skill (but it does look good) i tend to get to the edges of my tyres fairly quickly as i NEVER get out of the seat so to speak (i prefer to be firmly planted on the seat) and also the roads i ride daily are twisty.
those folks who ride mainly motorways and commute / travel long distances, are the most likely to retain some (Chicken strips).
as long as you enjoy your biking (however you choose to do it) then so be it
(but i will still take the **** if i feel like it) :P :P :P :P

we need to take the pee once they are established- like me !... you - scoobs et al.. the folk who pop um sarcy comments but we know they(and me) dont mean it.
I was just defending the newbie
