OK guys, heres the suggested route for our first GMassive rideout of the year I believe. The rideout is basically a straightforward jaunt to the coast. Although striaght forward the route is still a good one and I think it will be a good rideout regardless.

At around 10.00am (not bothered what time aslong as morning) we would meet at The Little Chef (A3 Garage, Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7RZ). This is on the A3 on the outskirts of Guildford that would mean people can get some brekkie, fill up and also go to infinity motorcycles if needed ;)

From here ride a couple of miles down the A3, heading South and taking the A286 to Haslemere which is a great country road that winds through the west Sussex countryside going through Haslemere, Midhurst and Glorious Goodwood amoungst others all the way to Chichester. This route has a mix of straights, twsities and great views of the south downs, so something for everyone in a nutshell.

The pub is TBA, DirtyDog will be going down there soon and he will be tasked with finding a pub unless anyone knows a good one near there. I do know that there is The Crown & Anchor, an old riverside pub located on the Chichester Estuary which would be great if the weather holds up.

After lunch we can either visit the beach at West Wittering, ill upload some pics when I find some as it would only be a couple of miles away if that or failing that head back on the A285 to Guildford via Petworth and Chiddingfold which takes in some more lovely country roads that lead all the way back to the A3 Guildford where people can make their way home or stop at the little chef again to wave goodbye.

Total roundtrip should be around 160 miles give or take and hopefully the weather will hold for us and we can have a great rideout with some great views to boot.

Anyway what do you guys think? and also vote if you can make it. Everyone is invited regardless of experience and depending on numbers there may be a fast group and a not so fast group but that along with the marking system will be decided a bit nearer the time depending on numbers.

***UPDATE***

The round trip is only about 100miles, the first section is about 1hour to 1hour 30 to get to the pub. Loads of sitting space outside overlooking the quay and we can park bikes outside along the road if necessary, its a pretty quite strech of road.

If people want to go to the seaside we will be going to East Wittering as there is a carpark there we dont have to pay for and its a 2minute walk to the pebble beach. Its a couple of miles from the pub location.

Coming back we will make a petrol stop for anyone who needs it and to break up the journey and then from there back to the infinity along the A3.

We will leave at 10AM and would expect to be back at the start/finish point at about 3-4PM depending on traffic/time sat in pub etc.

Still undecided. I think we may be going up town, but not sure.

Start time will be 10 unless there are any objections with the eventual finishing point being where we started at the little chef/infinity in guildford. Not decided on the pub but will do soon along with expected times etc.

New to all this so apologies for that, updated details coming soon

Right, reckon I can make this! 8) :D I arranged cover for my on call only to realise my parents are coming over at 1500!

So, I think I'll do the ride down to the pub, natter, poss. have lunch, and then not head to the beach but ride home up the B2141/B2146 to Petersfield, then A272/A32 and then time depending either straight home from Alton, or do the more interesting route. I reckon I can do all that and get home by 1400 or shortly after. (Certainly well before 1500 when my parents arrive.)

Maybe an early mark home for me too if it looks like its gonna be a late day - I gotta pick the fam up from the airport later in the arvo.

I nearly got caught doing 90ish on the A3 on the way back, Van flashed and waved to slow down, soon as i went round the bend a cop was holding a speed gun up! phew.

Hi all, was good to meet you. The ride down wasn't great it has to be said, but was made up for by the ride home :D

Just north of Chichester I hung a left onto the B2141 to Petersfield - you HAVE to ride this road! :D I had the SV pinned in top wishing for more, it really is wide and open. One sweeping right I remember was taken at 120 and should have been quicker... Then the road narrows and tightens up into a great series of bends; really twisty stuff. 8) I had a great time practising my vision line (and my new trick: overtakes on left handers*). The ol' vision line helped in two bends - one with a hiker on the other side of the road and a car about to overtake: I just swept left; and the other time I saw the artic that was stopped on my side (facing me!) in plenty of time to come to a halt. Then down the A272, which was slightly spoilt by traffic volume but I can see why people like it, to West Meon Hut. Turn right and wheelie away from the lights ;) up the A32 to Alton and home via Odiham and the Caeser's Camp road (which I treated like my own mini TT ... it's a 40...). All in all a great route home and one road in particular that will be revisited!

* No, I'm not a complete loon! This was demoed by Jon Taylor (Riding GOD!) when I had a day's training with him recently and works so well it's unreal. And just to be clear - they were done on the open bits, not the real twisty bits!
