Hey, got the Carnival this afternoon in Buxton and woundered if they have them over the country. I've told friends about them and some look at me like I'm nuts. Good fun, a day of drinking and the streets are shut off. Look at some skantily shad ladies and men in dresses  ....what more could you ask for \:D/

well here in London we obviuosly have the world famous Notting Hill Carnival.

Great to go dancing down the streets that i normaly commute on, always fun the day after too as i ride along thinking "i was dancing here yesterday"

cant beat a good carnival or street party imho. Well ok the full moon beach parties i used to go to in the canaries were pretty damn good too 8)

Yes, we have a carnival here every year.................carnival Queen and everything. Lots of floats, main streets shut off, and then a big fair with rides and stalls on the local recreation ground. It's a great day out :D

Bedford's having it's version - the River Festival today.

Parade, stalls, traffic jams, screaming babies, fireworks.

Well, ya takes the good with the bad.

Always had one back home in Lymington, boring type with floats then a fair.
Then one later in the summer in Milford with drinking and live music.

In Swindon there was a bit of a street party in the pedestrianised areas. There were various little performances and music and stuff. Was interesting but we're not talking Notting Hill, here.

Well I must admit I did enjoy being the centre of attention. :P It was so funny, they were even having bets as to which one of them would "initiate me"! Such a laugh...the more it was obvious I was gonna stick to my hetero ways, the more outrageous they were!

As you might imagine I did not drink a lot of alcohol that day, thought it best to keep my wits about me!
