Well I am right in the midst of launching this with a pal of mine who is based back in the UK. Something much closer to my heart than the property game which I have been in for far too long now.

We have just translated the site to English today. There is a rather amusing error on the model specifications which I will leave you to find. Not perfect grammar either tbh but that is not what we are about.

My man will be sorting the list of errors tomorrow.

TBH the proper taxis (Black Cabs) aren't as bad as you think. Most of them try thier best not to kill you and generally move over for you, the worst guys (& gals) are the buses, they just don't give a s**t! :toss: (Apologies to any bus drivers on the forum, hopefully you aren't included in the above comment  )

Still chemical engineering, exciting at times, but trying to get the company to put up the money to back your ideas can be a little trying.

Also dull at times with calcs, hazard assessments, paperwork etc, but think all jobs have their plus and minus points!

Always thought I'd just do this for a few years, and then sod off to become a ski instructor and/or deep sea diver. But getting used to the money and pay rises so can't complain at the age of 26 and first job out of Uni. I'll just wait and see, got a good project coming up which should keep me busy for a year or so.

Money's still crap though  - in both jobs :?

Money isn't everything though. My work is boring enough (unless you like database management etc - but it definately wouldn't do you any favours on a friday night).

The good thing is that I was recently offered a new job, with a different company. The offer was the same job as I do now, but twice the money. Enough to sit up & make anyone pay attention. I talked to my current employer to ask what they could do (if anything). They gave me a substatial pay rise, and offered to pay 'travelling costs'.

Dont get me wrong, the money is still crap, but now I have a free SV to play on (they are paying finance, insurance - inc. breakdown, tax and fuel :D I just have to pay maintenance costs - servicing etc), and it's not all that far from the offer I was given after you work things out.

Edit: My brother is a Paramedic based in Leeds, and his wife is his partner (and Ambulance Technician), so repec' for the job you do & the grief that I know comes your way now & again for only trying to help.

Project Manager for LNT Construction, we design and build nursding homes in the north of the UK, came from a construction draughtsman background.

I liase with site to ensure they have all thier drawings, and information required, and recently started designing an Drawing and information distribution system for the company.

Currently i deal with anything else other ppl fk up, which is intensive and deptressig, but it pays the bills!

I do enjoy it, but im under a lot of stress with long days and long weeks, my neck usually ends up on the line which is upsetting!

I look after the project management requirements for a hosting centre, so that means comms, application servers, database servers, web servers, content management. etc. About 180 assorted servers, 40% Sun Solaris, 40% Linux, and 20% for the foolish customers who bought windoze based applications.
