Not sure this week as I'll be up in Enfield, but I'll try.
Cheers Mark.
I might take a potter down with you after Portsdown Hill.
Oh well, was going to make the effort, but as no one else seems to be going, i'll pass. Verna will be disapointed. The massiv dwindles already.
DD and NT will be there too so there will be a few of us there plus Scoobs that makes 6 of us so far and you and verna 8

Erm one thing though.........how do I get there again?
Coming from Farnborough so I can go down the A331 and then take the A3 towards Guildford (over the Hog's Back) but then I'm lost.
Last time I followed Si and we took a really strange route, plus I was trying to keep up! :D

Thanks Tara. It's a big deal for Nicki as she doesn't like bikes and has only been on the SV twice but hated it. She likes the Hornet a lot more as it is a little more pillion friendly. So I am hoping I can bring her out for days/evenings out on the bike as she misses a lot of good stuff. See you there! :D She did make me laugh today though. She said "But they'll maul us as we no longer have an SV". I had to explain you don't HAVE to have an SV to be a member of the forum. Bless her cottons!

It's a layby marked to Wisley Gardens. Go past Wisley Gardens and after a while you'll see a pub on your right. And you've been there before and I've met you!

What a strange ride home! Started out fine on th M40, got the the M25 and it was flooded with standing water. Then got pelted by hail which hurt lots! By the time I got the the M3 I was soaked through but it was rather nice to be cool for a change! The the sun came out and it rained even harder at the same time. Just as I got into my road it was flooded! Great. Now it's raining hard again! Car I think tonight I am not getting soaked again!
Still not able to make my first meet - on call etting in the way again.

Dan, hope you don't mind me asking, but why on earth do you go that way?? There are so many cross country options to choose from! If I'm coming down the M40 then I get off at J4 and go down the A404, hop along the M4 to J10, whizz thru the Southern Industrial Estate and off dowwn the A3095 to M3 J4 (and then the A331, but I guess you might be further into Hants). And if the M4 is looking dodgy then there are routes from J8/9 through to either Ascot or Bracknell. [/curious]

sounds about like my journey home this eve! oh, and add to that the fact that most of the roads were like rivers and more than once i had cars coming the other way splash water over me right up to my head!! Still, at least the water was fairly warm!! :D
having dried off, currently contemplating whether i can bring myself to go back out in it again...hmm...

I work in Uxbridge and live in Farnborough and the motorways are the fastest way home. I do know a non-motorway route home but I knew that going through Windsor there would be flooding etc. so avoided it. Plus the other way takes twice as long normally.
Aaahhh...didn't think about you coming UP the M40 rather than down! makes more sense now I know the facts! :P
Just got home,
Nice to meet aload of you! Me and Jester were the first arivals after riding thought that huge storm and both got soaked (water proofs didnt help me!) everyone seemed to turn up soon after in either a car or after rain had stopped!
Now gota dry my stuff out before using again tomorrow morning :(

Yep, did M40 in the sun, M25 in the tropical downpour, lightning, hail, etc - I'd have been dryer if I'd tried to ride along the Thames

Yer well the makers of my waterproof trousers decided they needed pocket holes... what a stupid idea! Ok so they are ment for rambling not riding at high speeds in a huge storm but thats not the point!
heh im sure it will, I may just close my eyes and pull on the throttle :) that should get me to work quicker (but maybe in multiple peices).
