hi what in your opinion is the best tank? pad Ive put an oxford spider on mine but because the gaps in it are quite large the tank is getting scratched (cheep and thin Suzuki paint) i want something that covers more of the "pad" area... :?

It's a Motrax Rubber Ronnie. I've got one on a pointy and it does the trick.

I've got a tank pad fromt the Venture Shield tank kit that I bought on my bike.

Its virtually invisable and cover quite a large area.

When I bought my pointy it had that exact one on and it was rubbish... It fell off at about 65mph on the motorway one morning.... And a good job too.. They are horrible.

I like the rubber Oxford Spider, or is it Spine? it's quite ugly, but in a good way, and the thickness provides loads of protection. But Ventureshield or a Tankslapper is a better way of protecting things all round, since it also protects the sides of the tank.

Suzuki Accesories (http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/access.asp?m=24&s=&x=60&y=20)

There is a silver SV one on here but I chose the Black one with the SV logo and the Vtwin in the background - BUT it isn't shown on their website so i'll take a pic of mine this week for you - £15 at your local Suzuki dealership

I think tank pads look tacky. As long as you keep the polish up and don’t have a stupid metal zip or something, I really don’t see this as a problem. I have been riding my SVS daily for er … 8 months and I have no detrimental signs.

Yep me too and it has been on the bike 6 months and still stuck nice and firmly. Had a motrax 10 quid jobbie before. While it looked good it had rough edges and eventually suffed my new leather jacket....did not notice it was happening till it was pointed out to me

Fitted my brand spanking new tank this morning and put a rubber ronnie on it to stop any scratches but i can honestly say they are crap!.
It will not stick no matter what i do, it took half an hour to put the tank on and i've spent over an hour trying to get the damm ickle ronnie thing to stay in place.
Do not buy one they are rubbish!
