I havent been on the horse for a week now. Time to mount up, I reckon.

Anyone fancy a bimble this eve? Just local. The weathers fine, the days are long, my backside might have recovered...

EEeeek.. pushing it a bit on that one.... as long as I dont get dirty today and need a bath, I can get home and changed quickly..... I know its annoying, but possibly Magor services ?? we can go down and turn off onto the M48 and carry on that way then... as I am likely to need petrol by the time I get there anyway...

I shall be in my ELF suit ;)

valleyboy
25-07-06, 10:31 AM
Actualy.. I'll see you at chepstow race course.... if I can get home and changed quickly.. that leaves me with an hour and three quarters to play with.. so I'll get to chepstow the long way ;)

p.s. you will hear me before you see me now

Chepstow race course for 6.30 sharp it is then..... one of us lot will be twiddling thumbs....

I'll try and get to the Roo for 6 but I 'll have to be pretty lucky with the traffic. In the office in Swindon today. I guess If I miss you then I'll catch up some other time.

Why not come direct to Chepstow Racecourse? May be easier. We wont leave until 6.45 I shouldnt think.

Great ride, hope everyone's home safe and sound.
Don't know if you lot got off the a40 for the second bend at usk or not? I decided to head through usk and home.
stretchie those bends were amazing, can't believe you missed them. I managed to grind my left foot peg on the exit from a40 to usk!

ps. I hope this post works, the missus is still in a strop coz i went out to play and won't get off the puter, so i'm posting off my phone!

the white rabbit
25-07-06, 09:26 PM
I'm home safe. You would believe how easy it is to get your knee down on a GS on that corner Stretchie, quality bends.

Apart from that the wasp down the jacket was an especial highlight.

Ouch.

valleyboy
25-07-06, 09:38 PM

Sounds like fun!

So what roads do you ride over that way then? When I've been out Abergavenny way before I've taken the B4235 to Usk from the racecourse at Chepstow and then the B4598 to Abergavenny. Return trip is the B4521 all the way across to the A466 then down to the M48 and home. That's my favourite little spin out. Any tips for improving it then? :D

anna
25-07-06, 10:26 PM
Dont know the names of roads of where we normally go but the real twisties we love are just before the roundabout as you come up to the race course.. on the left ... follow those all the way to Abergavenny following sign posts..... fantastic roads and brilliant fun...

Of course you could always give us a shout and we will show them to you first hand ;)

(no comments about me always getting lost as I will be forced to reveal who really got us lost tonight and who whilst leading us i.e me did just fine and knew where to go!!!)

Ah...that's the same ones to get to Aber. Great raods, but could do with a resurface in places.

These two 270° left handers sound interesting!

I'm definitely up for a ride out but I'm away all of August so it'll have to be when I return. Looking forward to it!

When she was on the bike she blended right in, couldn't see her but could definitely hear her

Was good to do the group ride again. Confidence in the bike nearly completely restored. Went back the A420 with Squirrel and stopped for a pint in Nam.

You photgraphed your hand but no-one had the foresight to take a photo of "Camoflage Anna" on the GS?

Ahem.........We didn't all miss that corner, and I've got the grind marks on my footpeg to prove it, :) maybe you missed the corner because you were all so far behind? (dons flameproof jacket in preparation)

He he he, I'm not sure if mine is louder or not, but then I tend not to give my throttle a 90% twist when starting my ignition

Most enjoyable moment for me was chasing squirrel through the 'wrong' lanes with everyone else in tow, getting to the end and he shouts "Which way?" and I shout back "Dunno" and he says "Whoa, I thought you were Beenz?" at which point we both realise we are lost.
