Just got back from 3 days touring Devon & Cornwall.

Rode some cracking roads :D and a couple that were not so good  We tried to avoid dual carriageway/motorway wherever possible.

Took the wrong road out of Lynmouth though - 1 in 4 Hairpins on single track roads (green stuff in the middle) two up with panniers was not fun  - especially when meeting 4X4s coming the other way

A39 along the North Coast - especially after Bideford was amazing. A30 from Penzance to Lands End was excellent also took some of the back roads across Dartmoor on the way back which was nice

620 miles and I am almost as knackered as after the Norf/Sarf trip

A few photos of the highlights:-

Looks beautiful!

I think The Lizard is one of the nicest parts of Cornwall, if you're going south west it's well worth the slight detour. And you can sit at 'The Most Southerly Cafe'.

Gotta agre with a lot of the above about how beautiful it is there.

Cornwall i think is the prettiest part of this country (Scotland not included) abd you could almost kid yourself that you are in a foreign country.... until you hear one of the locals ith their ammusing accents.

nice pics.

It does seem like a different country in comparison with London. I was down in south Devon with mates a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful part of the world and I'd love to be able to move down there. Oddly enough, most of the bikes that I saw down there were old brit bikes - Nortons and the like.

You reckon you got a better chance of getting Mrs Wyrdness there than NZ then yeh?
I too would happily move out that way if there was decent work that paid well.... but then i'd miss the Soho Massive too much i think. :)

The sea also is a tease for me, it looks lovely there but its FREEZING! :smt119

I've certainly got more chance of persuading her to move there than NZ. I couldn't believe how expensive property is. Houses in Dartmouth are about the same price as in Richmond. You're right about the sea. It was freezing, even in this July's temperatures. Apparently it gets warmer later in the summer.

Here's my photos from our boys weekend at the seaside. No bikes though, as we drove down and I'm the only one who rides:
