Have got my tailtidy fitted and now would like a smaller number plate.

I dont want the smallest possible but one that is slightly more in proportion with the back of the bike. Dont want to be stopped every 5 minutes.

7x5?? any favourite suppliers??

Thanks
Have heard them mentioned before so will give them a try.

I reckon 7"x5.5" will be a perfect size.

got a 7x5 of some guy of e bay for 12 quid delivered next day and has the extras on too like logo and stuff for that price. Even has my user name TC3 within the border at the bottom of the plate

I can vouch for the service at MAL too. Got my Euro plate there at very short notice (the day before I went abroad!) - but then they are only 10-15 miles down the road from me.

Interestingly they share a unit with the servicing bit of California Superbike School - seeing row after row of spare Yammy fairings up on the wall.

Got a 7x5.5 from Malplates.

It took 3 days to arrive, was packaged well and seems to be good quality. (all letters straight etc...)

I used the link you posted.

I asked for an 8x6 with border, euro badge and slogan. Next day delivery included for £11.99.

I asked for an email showing me the proof plate when I paid via paypal in the evening, and got that the next morning. I OK'd the plate at around midday - AND GOT THE PLATE IN THE POST THE NEXT DAY.

Ridiculously fast service. :D

got a plate off www.myshowplates.com (http://www.myshowplates.com) a while back. very quick & you can design & preview the plate on the site before you order.

not sure about the minimum legal size though, tried to find out last time but it seems the size of the letters & numbers is the governing factor & not the overall size of the plate.... somewhere on the DVLA or DSA websites.

I've used them before with no problems at all. I always go for 8x6.

Anyone got a black plate and got away with it?

Shame theyre only legal on vehicles registered before 1973 - but would look great on my shiny new black SV!

I looked on DVLA and they can do a number of things:

~ Fine you up to £1000
~ Deregister your bike
~ blah blah blah

I didnt bother reading the rest of their turd

Personally i'm a fan of 6x4 but 7x5 is also a decent size and i agree mal plates are awesome. Decent turn around time and a bloody good quality plate at the end of the day!
