Well said
Skiving is the way forward. Maybe if I hadn't taken a pay cut to come to this company, maybe if I'd had more that 3 pay rises in seven years, maybe if they weren't off shoring my job and possibley making me redundant, maybe then I'd be a little more motivated and spend less time on here.
Oops sorry, rant over.

Well said Tricky!
I could work,but I don't feel 100%,about 67%,but as you said,after the ridiculous pay-rise I got the other day,which was 4 months late,they can get stuffed!
So to a small degree,I'm skivving too

Yep, that Ulrika Johnson and Johnny Vegas are very thoughtful like that.
I'm off work from the place where I'm technically still employed - but to pay the bills I'm selling stuff from home...
... so both are reasons I'm frequently on the computer, and therefore here!

Same here, 17 years hard work and I'm thrown on the scrap heap.
7 days left and counting - yipee!
I'm on a training course so abusing the company facilities on the lunch break.
Co-incidentally i've got flu, which suprised me being that its the height of summer. must be something going around.
Sounds more like you men have got hay fever? It can be cold like symptons.

Man-flu is bloody nasty, but it's not proper man-flu if you can even figure out how to get out of bed.
For years I thought everybody else was just a pansy and 'flu' was just a bad cold. I discovered just how wrong I was a couple of years ago.
I made it to 23 years old before I had 'flu'.

Just a thought... How did we skive before t'internet? :P
Like BabyJ 6 weeks off. I love being a teacher!
So far today I've put a full length zip in my jacket so it zips to my troos, bought 2 petrol cans and ratchet straps and had a major panic about my licence being with DVLA. Yup I'm doing a trachday on saturday. Luckily Hottracks are happy to phone DVLA to confirm I have the licence.
Now all I have to do is find some replacement gold stickers for my helmet. Nobody told me not to take them off because they insist on them for track days

I used to nap in the back of the warehouse.
No warehouse here and I work near my boss, so I just don't tax myself too much.

Sneak off to the bogs to read the paper.
I somtimes employ an updated version of this, except playing space invaders on my phone instead of reading the paper.

Yep, I should definitely be working, but don't feel like it. So there.

Who said I'm out of bed??
Trouble is,not pleasant being in bed in this heat (Well it would be better if there was a nice young nurse with stockings and suspenders looking after me  ) it's TOO hot and Muggy to be ill!
Still, could be worse, like if I was at work!

You're earning too much Marshall!!! :( (I'm not jealous... much! )
Its too hot to work right now - i have to hibernate to conserve energy and maybe can catch up tonight. Kids paddle pool is looking rather inviting at the moment... anyone fancy a swim?

i earn a pitiful amount, 95% of people here earn more than me, the tax office just have it in for me and randomly change my tax code as they feel. since i registered as self employed (but never became self employed as i decided to stay in present job) they have screwed me round propperly
oh and im not registered self employed anymore either, i never made any money while i was self employed, but they still wanted to charge me more tax, its frikken stupid
Paying Tax sucks **** BIG time.
I really resent it.

I actually don't mind the basic idea of tax, I just think that as a relatively low earner, I should be cut a bit more slack.
Hmm,wouldn't choose to pay tax if there was a choice.
BUT,as there isn't a choice when you're "Employed",I'd prefer to pay ALOT less!

I don't know a thing about Tax, but surely if you give them your earnings to date they'll give you a rebate if you're entitled and by the sounds of it you are!
I'd contact your tax office and put the record straight if I were you, all they can do is say bog off.
Again, just my 2p, for what it's worth!
