This shouldn't be necessary, but it is. This is all totally in the design phase, but I'm committed because I've ordered the carbon for it.

I'm trying to make it as pleasing to the eye as possible... so what do you all think?

Very shiny!!
What are your plans for it?
Sorry but I prefer the curvy frame to the new one, Still looks good though!! :D

I guess that's a good response. The back shield over the exhaust is what I'm planning on fabricating.

Hey mate,

Are you fabricating this for the protection of the canister?

Yes, but not as much so as to keep my girlfriend from burning herself. She will wear a jacket and helmet, but she won't wear shoes... Crazy. It's not going to be sturdy enough to protect the canister in a collision (atleast that's not the plan right now, but plans change.) but it will prevent minor abarsions.

Hey,

OK cool! Sounds like a good idea.

I think if it was designed properly, you could make it so that it prevents scratches to the canister. I know the M4 racemount and low mount would be susceptible to scratching if the bike was dropped.

I am thinking a more fashionable R&G canister cover (http://www.rg-racing.com//showproducts/Can_Covers.aspx):

Don't Mitch, they look awful in the flesh.

I have a high-level Remus, but no problems for Mrs Jonboy when she rides pillion as it's carbon fibre and doesn't get over hot.

i was gonna suggest buying the r&g protector too but if its a heat shield youre going for to stop your girls tootsies burning off and you bike being followed by the smell of hot cheese then i have no idea if the r&g will do that.

But i like the shape you have created on the photo and if you can make that then go for it. Looks good.

Yeah, it gets hot... very hot. And no offense, but that R & G protector doesn't look very fashionable to me.

 Of course not. The government isn't very strict on vehicle exhausts... and acutally the state that I live in doesn't make people get their vehicles inspected.

simple answer would be to wear shoes or boots.

Yeah, I suggested that... she can be stubborn.

HELL NO! I am not putting one on the SV. I was thinking that if Neuone makes one, that it would be similar to the R&G design, but better looking. Get me? ;)

I got some material in today. The carbon fiber to be exact. I just ordered what was cheapest, and it turns out that I really like the look.

More updates to come, but I just started bartending and I'm working 7-9 shifts a week so progress will be slow.
