Surfboard on bike

While having a nose on the www.advrider.com site theres a question can I carry a surfboard on my BMW 1200 GS? and the answer turns out to be yes heres the photo.

seen it done on all sorts of bikes at newquay, GSX-r's, off roaders, gilera runners ect ect
