next on my list to get my bike through the MOT is a rear reflector, apparantly a requirement. However my old NSR never had one. Anyone if this really is a requirement? Does the rear light act as a rear reflector anyway?

It is a legal requirement yes (a seperate reflector that is)

You need a rear reflector but what it is is flexable(Must be red). You can buy small red stick on ones and just stick it on the bottom of the number plate.

That's exactlt what I have done. Cost was about £2. Make sure you clean the plate well though!

depends on the strictness of the tester.

Halfords will sell a bicycle reflector, which will do and just stick it on using electrical tape. Thats what I did, MOT tester had no probs!

I have an old fireblade one, bolted to a piece of flexible ally plate and then siliconed to the back of my numberplate. It's been there for 2 years, I check it's still on once a year before MOT.

Check eBay. I got mine for 50p.

Pick one up from a bicycle shop. I'm surprised Halfords hasn't got it.

Cheers

Halfords didn't have any when i went to buy one either, they're pretty pap.

I bought a set of stick-backed reflectors from my local friendly bike shop for a couple of quid. Job sorted.
