has anyone else noticed that the weather forecasts seem to be getting more and more useless? Like when they tell you it's going to rain so you replan your weekend, etc and then it's gorgeous sunshine and you have arranged to help someone move house, etc
Or like today when I thought that I won't bring my new bike in cos it's so nice and shiney still and every forecast was predicting doom and gloom - but now the sun is shining it's merry self outside and I have to take the train home
You mean you actually BELIEVE what the weathermen tell you
All together now..................
"I don't care what the the weatherman says,
When the weatherman says it's raining......"

actually, yes - why do I do that??
When I was checking BBC 24hr forecast at 6:30 on Fri eve before my big ride for the weekend there was only 3 hrs left of the forecast as it was running from the prior day - Not much use!

Crazy chick sydrome is it?
Weather forcasting is educated guess work, especialy in this country.
Saying that i do listen to the London weather every morning before deciding how to dress for the journey to work and back.

Leathering down in Cardiff, too.
Forecast for South Wales is OK until Friday, though. Whether or not you believe the forecast is up to you. And where this thread started

Can I railroad this thread and ask if anyone can recommend a good quiet campsite near Brecon, I want to go next week?
Weather permitting
said it would be raining for bikesafe yesterday and it was lovely.
I dont change plans or anything becuase of weather reports, always keep waterproofs with you just in case :P

Amen to that! But then, commuting through Snowdonia, the weather changes more times than I change gears! Always *ALWAYS* ride to/from work in waterproofs, even the last few weeks when it was blisteringly hot. The law of sod clearly states that the day I don't, I'll ride through a biblical rainfall (and it takes a little time to pull over & put waterproofs on).
Advantage of my ride is that it's all 50mph+, so I have the cooling effect from mountain air. Only the last few hundred yards is in a 30mph zone.

Theres one in Llangorse near the lake.... not been camping there... but the MoFo's have been thinking about doing a weekend there.... so we can throw some of them into the lake
Did you know that Chaos theory came about by someone studying the weather?
The fact that small minute changes in a weather system can drastically change the predicted outcome? Kind of goes back to Spideys educated guess - thats all they can really do. But the daily predictions should be more accurate than weekly ones as theyre usually based on live satellite feeds. However, its still a matter of probability and if that damn butterfly flaps its wings, forecasted sun can become rain in no time. :D

So what your saying is if an albatross flaps its wings in China, and the moon is in the eight house of Pisces then we all fooked for the weekend?
Gotta love Chaos

Hahahahahaha
I called my cat Chaos for this exact reason.
Chaos 1 was with me when i lived in the canary islands and if i stood outside calling "Chaos" for her to come home i'd get some very funny looks from the locals. It was a while before i discovered that localy it meant Tripe, you know the nasty cows stomach thing.
So i'd be standing outside my flat on a warm evening shouting "Tripe! Where are
you Tripe?"
No wonder they all thought i was a bit funny.

Exactly - The principal is called 'Sensitive Dependence on Initial Conditions'.
