It is identical to Diet Coke except for one ingredient which is in Diet Coke and is linked to ADHD

Is that the sweetner Aspartine or something similar?
Reminds me of TAB, same after taste.
It taste like sh*t and it has a nasty after taste to it. I like it better than Diet which was always too sweet.

Its going to be the marmite of the drinks world isnt it? you either love it or hate it
They're certainly pushing the it with the TV adverts, plus they've been giving away free samples in Nottingham this week.
It just tastes like the old "Diet" coke to me.
I'll have a Pepsi Max please.

I'm ashamed to admit when it comes to alcohol I'm a real lightweight  Just got no tolerance for it at all. One glass of Bailey's at Christmas is all I drink all year. Stick to coffee and soft drinks...............they don't make me ill :D

I just cant help wondering how all the chemicals they have used instead of sugar can possibly be any "better" for you....?! :?

Really? Brilliant... I miss Tab Clear. Tasted like potatoes. In a good way.
I do love the adverts. "AMAZING! It's like Coke! But with no sugar! What will they think of next!"
Havent seen the adverts yet - but picked up some from sainburys on special... the power of big money marketing continues to amaze me. I bet it was unheard of before the summer??
I used to like that Quatro green stuff back in the 80's....
The best thing about coke is mix it with large short...(if you can get a large short that is?)

Sweetners....bleurgh!!! Yep like you said, at least sugar's natural.
One thing that's hacked me off over recent years is, why have so many drinks companies started making drinks with sugar AND sweetners ?!!! Surely it's either/or :-k Can't even touch Robinson's Barley Water anymore

"Diet" drinks contain less Di-Hydrogen Oxide by volume.
Other good thing is the facr there is no sugar, so as a Diabetic (Type 2 so no affect on insurance and license) this is a good thing.
Personally I prefer Max, but as the nearest shop to work is a a rip-off joint (McColls or whatever they call themselves these days) I usually drink what ever they have as a 2 for about the price of one offer - they usually want more than a quid/bottle.
This month its Coke products, next it will be Pepsi
David
I like both pepsi and coke but prefer the full fat versions as to the diet no sugar versions - but to be honest don't really drink alot of either

Quite true - but the main chemical used these days to substitute sugar is aspartame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame) which took some time for the Food Standards Agency to allow its use in our food - IIRC food manufacturers tried multiple times to get it passed them, once they did its now everywhere... personally I try not to drink fizzy drinks - there are much tastier things out there....

Oh wow, so it wasn't my imagination.
It was a strange 'Tropical' one but didn't just taste like mango which they all do now.
Looked like washing up liquid. Oh it was awesome. I used to dilute it less and less till I was drinking it neat. Sipping it like a good whiskey.

I'm male and its in my jeans as well. Keeps trying to get out
I used to drink a lot of coke but realised it wasn't doing me much good so I switched to flavoured water. Mostly I drink "Perfectly Clear" lemon & lime. Tastes great. No added nasties either!!
Drink water. Better for you

its true,
but we dont wait for it to go off.

If I mentioned nicotine is an industrial strength weed killer would that stop people smoking? :P
In regards to coke you forget how acidic stomach acid already is. Coke doesnt really affect the acidity level that much or have any more effect on the stomach than stomach acid. :D

I have to applaud any attempts to produce food/drinks without adding sugars, but why then feel the need to add artificial sweetners instead?.
Personally I would prefer a nice cup of tea to a coke, OK I usually cheat and grab a bag of dust , but occassionally a nice Assam or Darjeeling, even green China teas. Just add boiling water and leave to mash. oh so relaxing.
Coffee not a big consumer but can somebody explain the logic of decaff. If I want a cup of coffee it is because I want the caffine.
Lyn, please don't remind me of how strong stomach acid is. I have suffered for over 20 years with an over efficient producer.

I cant sleep if to much caffine in the evenings but i like the taste - but nothing like a grade 5 shot to get me awake in the morning - only from too many late nights.

As far as I can tell it is exactly the same as diet coke (as they both contain Aspartame), both foul too. Coke zero (like Pepsi Max) is basically just a marketing ploy, apparently bloke don't like buying drinks called something diet so it is meant to be a diet drink that blokes will happily buy.
Me I can only drink the full fat versions of coke/Pepsi. Sprite/Fanta/Tango Z on the other hand I don't mind.
