A typical day in your life...

So what is a typical day in your life? Mine seems pretty **** which is why I posted up a little while ago about a career change. I find that the daily grind is starting to **** me off even more now that I am working in Eastbourne than before. So I thought I’d start a post about what a day in your life is all about and below is a typical weekday in my life… I hope yours makes for a bit more interesting reading than mine does…

05h30 Alarm goes and get out of bed…head striaght for the bathroom.
05h50 Kiss wife then off to work…1h30min in the car driving to Eastbourne
07h30 Start work
10h00 Break for tea and sarnie.
11h00 Back to the grind
13h00 Break for tea and fruit or whatever is left after brekkie (usually just a cuppa then back out to work at 13h15)
17h30-18h00 Look at heading home for a deserved break…then spend another 90min in the car but could be more if the A21 or M25 have problems
19h30 Arrive home, have a bite to eat then watch a spot of telly or something. Bath my daughter and put her to bed then spend some time on tit’internet.
22h30 Shower and go to bed….so the whole cycle begins again at 05h30 the next day.
Now how sad is that :(

07:00 Look out window at pending weather, make a decision to take car or bike.
07:30 Arrive at the office, sit down have my bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes, and browse the t'interweb.
08:00 Usually start work
12:00 Lunch
16:00 Finish
16:45 Get home, walk dog, cook tea.
18:00 Missus gets in, eat tea that i have cooked to a cordon bleu standard :wink:
Dunno bout a michelin star but i got the spare tyre :oops:
18:45 Do dishes, watch a few of the soaps or whatever is on ****ellite.
22:00 Usually head upstairs and give her the Big cuffy loving experience :makelurve:

0700,alarm, listen to Radio Wales till 7.30
0830 leave for work.
0900 start work, after surfing
1030, walk to our coffee shop for a erm, coffee
1300 lunch
1400 back from lunch
1500, walk to coffee shop for another coffee
1700 leave for home
1715 get home
1800 have tea
1830 wash up
1900 my time, for whatever I want.

God, I've got it easy! Sorry for all those who have a long commute and ungodley hours.

04:01 Head hits pillow and I fall asleep.
04:02 Halarm goes off ( Yes that's right an alarm I bought from some dodgy arab geezer on the market )
04:03 Beat Halarm to with an inch of its sh****y existence.
04:04 Rise slowly and wonder how on earth I managed to end up wearing a girls dress with wellies and full climbing equipment.
04:30 Stagger downstairs for breakfast......This would seem normal you say, only I live in a bungalow.
04:45 Serve dog his food and make myself a bowl of Rice Crispies.
04:48 Tuck into breakfast and notice dog is looking at me funny as to why his breakfast is making popping sounds. I 've done it again haven't I
05:30 Leave for work
05:31 Remember I got the sack yesterday for the incident with the superglue, a chicken and my bosses car.

13:00 Break during playstation for food and a loo break
13:20 Resume Playstation

23:40 Watch a bit of news about somebody killing somebody else over something, somewhere and some stage yesterday.

3.30ish paint or computer work til 5 "go home" do some house work :^o
cook tea
watch all the Soaps and Big Brother/play my instruments
go to bed about 12 or 1

Perhaps some of the previous posts were done just in case an employer might spot what had been written?

Perhaps putting the "shoe on the other foot" if some people actually analysed the amount of internet use on time being paid for by their employer,perhaps other tasks might be found? Could this not be viewed as a form of theft?(Very controversial suggestion I know) But is it not another form of the situation where an employee is away doing other non work related activites during time he/she is being paid for by his/her employer?

back to get kids ready for school
lots of showers and arguments
845 leave for work
do lots of different stuff every day including taking groups of kids for maths or reading, playground duty, dinner hall duty, photocopying
finish at 3 except mon and wed when its 5
home
tue & thur pick up daughter for horse riding at 4 take son swimming at 5-6 pick up daughter at 7 then take son to cubs til 8 then home to make tea. then do ironing for next day and any washing
mon go to kickboxing
wed go to kickboxing, son goes to judo and daughter goes to guides
fri pack bag for daughter as she will be off on a sleepover til sun usually

housework at weekend occasional rideout when got a sitter

6:40am - alarm goes off. Depending on how tired I am I'll either get up or hit snooze until 7:20. Shower, hair, face, get dressed.

7:40am (or 8:20 - see above) - leave for work (train).
9:15am (or 9:45) - arrive at work.

12 - 2pm: at variable times have an hour lunchbreak, generally at the pub.

5:30 (or 6pm) - home or pub.

7:45pm - get home watch tv. Go to bed whenever. If pub option roll in at about 1:30am. In bed by 2/2:30am.

12pm - 1pm - get woken up by noisey drunk neighbours rolling back from the pub.

4am - 5am - wake up for no apparent reason and go back to sleep.

I do my work. I delegate, which i can do. I write my reports, make sure that everything is running well, and i sit here surfing. One day i'll get blocked from this site, and until then, i'll be here.

So does anyone actually get less than say 6hrs sleep a night then? I wish I had the luxury of getting out of bed after 06h00...even at the weekend I have the bed bouncing up and down(OO-er missus) by 05h30 because my dauhgter lives by sunlight! Thank goodness for winter...

My reasoning is that I do not get enough excercise and due to long working days and busy weekends, the only time I have free for excercise would be getting up and hour earlier at 04h30 to go for a walk/run...

I go for a run at 6am, but any earlier than that is just madness.

It's quite sociable at that time in the morning my nieghbour takes his dog for a walk at the same time so we usually have a chat, if i don't go one morning i have to make sure i have a good excuse. :lol:

6.00 Paul's alarm goes off and he gets up.
7.00 Paul wakes me up with kiss goodbye as he leaves for work
7.00-7.30 Shower, get dressed, brush teeth etc
7.30 Get 3 kids breakfast
7.45 Make Lunches
8.00 Get the 3 kids dressed
8.15 sort out bags, water bottles etc
8.30 leave to take girls to school
8.45 Drop girls off at school take little man to play group
9.00 Start Work
1.05 Lunch
1.50 Back to work
3 pm finish work
3.20 Pick kids up from school/playgroup
3.45 home
3.45-500 Sorting 3 kids out, stopping fights, shouting etc, arguing over games to play or TV! (You know what I mean if you're a parent!! :wink: )
5.00 Start dinner whilst sorting out kids
5.30 Paul comes home
6.00 Have dinner whilst sorting out kids
6.00-7.30 Paul washes up whilst I Sort kids out, bath them get them ready for bed etc
7.30-8.00 put kids to bed whilst Paul hoovers
8.00 My time for surfing internet, watching Eastenders or anything else worth watching! :D
10.00 shower
10.30 Bed

Those of you with kids seem to have it quite busy. My day is quite easy at the mo' cos I finish at 17h30 but when boss is around, can easily finish at 19h30 and in August very cool as boss is away all month. My typical day at the mo' is:

07h30 - Up with the alarm
07h40 - Out the door & commute with vespa for 30 mins, shower when I get to work
08h30 - Start work, have breaky
Have lunch anywhere between 12h00-14h00 for around 1hr
17h30 - End of work & commute home
18h00 - Arrive home - spend time with b/f, dog, tv, books - usually cook
22h00 - Walk dog for an hour
23h00 - Sleep

Lot and lots of lovely sleep :D

The rest of the evening is variable, depending on what we're having to eat, what's on the telly, and whether Pete is on late or early shift, but I usually get to bed around midnight.

06:30 - Alarm goes off, this time it sounds like a police siren, that gets my attention, so I get out of bed (by this time my fiance & 21month old son are pretty much awake too)

07:00 - Jump out of the shower as the noise has woken the other two kids up, and the shower is now freezing cold
07:15 - Grab a coffee & start gearing up slowly
07:30 - Set off to work
08:30 - Arrive at work, commence falling asleep in my chair after setting alarm on my mobile
09:00 - Other people arrive, so time to wake up & start work. Coffee/tea provided by the company, so won't tell you lot how much I overload on caffine
12:00-14:00 - Go for an hours lunch somewhere in there.
14:00 - Start work again, same as before with coffee.
17:15 - Start gearing up whilst still 'working'
17:30 - Ride home
19:30 - Arrive home (hate that traffic)
19:40 - Sit down to eat the food lovingly made for me, although everyone else has eaten already
20:00 - Read stories with the kids once they're ready for bed, say good night
21:00 - Help out with the housework (yes, some of us blokes do it)
00:00 - Go to bed, get worken up in the middle of the night by the little one (the reason I wake him up in the morning - he'll soon learn :twisted: ), and have to go to work the following morning.

Oh how i am jealous of all you people that have a regular routine.... :wink:

Mine vary day to day;

I work 6 days on..which are 2 days, 2 lates and 2 nights, but the timings vary all the time... I then have 4 days off and then start the cycle again. It works out i get one full weekend a month....

aye Fraser i know exactly how it is. Im off until Friday night where ill work 7 nights in a row. This will be followed by 6 days off then back on shift again. I get 2 weekends every 5 weeks.

It can be good having time off but when all your mates are at work, life can become very boring
