Fork Brace?

:?: Has anyone any feedback on fitting a fork brace ( to early curvy ). - Mine can get a bit 'excitable' when ' pressing-on', on some of our increasingly crap roads. Mudguard fittings look like it would not be a great problem to engineer. Never been a fan of the clamp-on 'bone' type. :?

Ming, I would agree that on high speed corners (100mph plus) with a fair bit of lean that the rigidity of the fork assembly is not what it could be! I have a fork brace on order from Holeshot.com that should arrive today or tomorrow, that I am hoping will make a difference.

Minor tank-slap ,self correcting head shake, when hitting 'some' minor bumps at moderate lean angles.( high two figure speeds) Not terrifing but concering as to how bad it could get.

Personally I think you'd be better off unless you've already done it upgrading your front springs and fork oil. Its IMHO the fact that the standard front end doesnt deal with rough road surfaces well thats causing the head shake. Rather than the bike needing a fork brace IMHO.

I had a Superbrace fitted to my mk1 SV. Not sure it did much but it looked cool in polished Ali.

I was surprised that Suzuki didn't fit the usual cheap steel version that goes under the mudguard, most of my older bikes always had them.

Well, the Holeshot fork brace finally turned up last week and has been installed. It is a very well machined product and fits on very easily.

It does make the front end more stable through high speed corners that aren't perfectly smooth, so is a worthwhile purchase for me.

The CH Martin item is neater, but about 3 times the price.
