Worst record on the forum I think.

Done it again.

Managed to ride it home but will need a near gear selector assembly and full set of fairings, mirrors, windscreen and crash bungs.

Took a bend too fast considering my rustiness and new tyres and suspension. Was very low then the bend tightened, got a bit lower but couldn't go any further down as peg was already scraping. Would have made it if the road had been clear but there was a car coming the other way. In an effort to avoid him I tried to go outside him but he tucked up right to the side of the road leaving me nowhere to go, clipped a fence and went flying up the road.

BIG THANKS to everyone for everything afterwards. Especially the guy who followed me up the road, sorry never got your name.

Shall be sending my crash bung back to R&G as it just sheared off instead of sliding

Arm is very very sore, tempted to go and get it x-rayed.

Walked away though so it could be worse

Bad news mate. :(

That makes it official that you've got the SV Ecosse crown for slides per mile!

Glad your walking.
Go to the hospital , even if they don't xray it they will give it a good exam.
If you're not claiming off your ins. say you did it on a private test track or they will want to claim off your insurance for their costs.IMHO
Defraud the NHS at your risk and conscience

Have you guys up there never seen Hill Street Blues???

Glad you're ok & go get it checked out. The NHS didn't charge me and I admitted to riding like an idiot

Well, you know what I'm going to say- give me a bell if I can help out... And sorry to hear about it- sounds like it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

But be warned, if Drew gets wind he'll deliberately injure himself just so he can get some of his own, he did that last time out of pure jealousy. Just as well he never met the austrian nurse in my ward or he'd have been at his own hip with a hammer :)

Thanks guys.

Just had a very restless sleep. Don't feel any better for it but my arm isn't quite as bad as it was. Toe is really sore though, think the nail lifted up. But neither is life threatening, would have been much worse if I'd hit the front of the car.

Going to eat something now then see if I can drive over to the hospital.

Just back myself, glad to hear the arm's feeling a little better. Really bad corner it was though, as I said, I woulda done the same if I hadn't seen people slamming on the anchors in front of me.

Nearly did myself a head-on on the way home with Andy too - stupidly followed him on an overtake and came face to face with a car coming into a bend, somehow managed to make it between them but won't be doing that again!

Asides from that, was a good run. What happened to you anyway Northy?

I was still a bit drunk this morning... Didn't have any of the route or anything saved, so at about 9pm last night I was offered one more drink and... Well, you can guess the rest :)

Yep, because they're **** :) Newer ones are better though, Matt's got the old-style ones without the huge bracket things. Work great when they work. Don't work at all when they don't. Mine always worked a charm, I had no complaints at all till I "upgraded" to the new ones, but they sometimes just fail on impact like happened with Matt, here, and Scooby Drew, and many others.

No, I'm not on commission :) But Motosliders are better, and cheaper, and Motovation seem to be exactly the same (either a carbon copy, or rebranded). GSG Moko are also great. I think Bikesliders have gone out of business, and JHS have changed their design, but both used to be as good as it gets.

Should visit hospital for some x-rays just to be sure to be sure.

And some extra-strengh pain killers too.

I never went to the hospital in the end. Arm is feeling much better. The stiffness and lack of movement has gone but it's still sore. Will take some ibroprufen which will take down any swelling and a bit of the pain and see how I am in the morning.

I wish my bike was made of the same stuff as my bones.
