That flap is on my K3, it doesn't work as the water is travelling in a upward direction off the front tyre, the fenda extenda stops this.

You will still need an extender... Lots of peeps on K3+ models are STILL having this issue!
For less than £20 & five spare minutes to fit you can have peice of mind!
If you ride in heavy rain the flap is useless and you will need a fenda extenda as I found out.

Standard rubber flap is too small: the mud just goes up the back, even with a fender extenda. You need one of these:

The flap will also go missing, eventually.

Lots of people talking about needing this, needing that. Applying a little nonconductive silicon grease (the thin sort, not the spray stuff) is a better fix than most of the alternatives, isn't visible, and costs about £3 from Maplins for a tube of grease that'll last longer than the bike...

I ride in all weathers and I have a fender extender but tbh honest in the two years prior to me fitting it I had no problems. I only bought the thing bacause after really heavy rain my bike stopped working and I thought it might be due to that but it wasn't it was the clutch switch that was the problem.
