Would anyone like to help me chose between a Sony Ericsson K750i and a Nokia 6280?

what about the k800i instead of the k750? I've just got it and very impressed with it.
Hth
My 6280 is driving me up the wall  When it works, its a top top phone, but it doesnt work more than it does work. It constantly resets itself after Im left a voice mail and then I keep getting texts telling me I have a voice mail, even after I listen to them all and delete them.
Got to try and sort a replacement phone out today after frustration with it ended up in a phone to brick wall interface!
Hmmm, out of the 2, and i have owned one, and used the other i would go for the 750i, unless you are a nokia tart! I used to be, but found the dark side of Ericsson better. The 800i, is a much better phone than the 750i
I've had the750i for since October and also looking for something with a better MP3 player. The little mouse thing in the middle of mine is jamming up a little now and its hard to scroll down - but thats probably due to it getting a bit damp when riding in the rain. Its a good phone - my mrs doesnt like the buttons on it when dialing - but she has a nokia 6210 i think so thats why.
or the w810i (latest walkman) just got it, its excellent
Thanks for all you help.
No it really is down to these 2 based on price offers available.
A friend of a friend has upgraded the software on a 750 to an 800 so maybe that would be just as good as an 800 - or are you referring to the 512mb card?
Gmonsta - thats sounds like a common problem regardless of your rain - is it still livable with?
I was inclined towards the Nokia as it seems to be almost a year newer - Is this a common problem for it not to work?
Thanks again
or the w810i (latest walkman) just got it, its excellent ooohh whats it sound like. I wanted to get an MP3 player but cant seem to justify the expense if I can find a decent one in a phone??
Stu - yeah its a bit sticky. I've always liked the camera on it though as its pretty good resolution and autofocus works.

I have one of them too, It sounds good although I am not using the earphones that came with it. I have some of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00008XYJL/202-0611106-4191817?v=glance&n=560798&s=electronics&v=glance) and the ones that came with the phone are quire similar but didn't sound as good imo. I also got a 2gig card from ebay for just over £30.

The first issue, I assume you've looked into upgrading firmware. Second issue, that's the network, not the phone. Call them & complain. The phone doesn't store the voice mail, the network does. Also, the network provider's systems should know when it's alerted you to the fact you have a voicemail. Something is wrong there.
If you bought your phone from Phones4U you could be in luck! Take it back to them & complain, I know a guy that's a Phones4U store manager. Apparently, their company policy is pretty much that if you are unhappy about your phone, they'll pretty much throw money at you to change your phone to a different one, regardless of if you stay on the same contract or change to a new one. They prefer to you change to a new one though. The logic behind this, is that the networks pay them for every NEW contract, and as such, internal sales targets are based on this. Basically, they'll pay you to help them make targets, but if you want to keep your contract, they'll still pay you, because if you just cancel & walk, the network wants it's money back from the shop. If it wasn't Phones4U, try it anyway, they'll probably operate in the same way.
As for your question, I don't think it'd be fair me offering advice on the phones you're looking at, as I haven't seen anything about them :)
The joystick on my 750i whent up the swanny, but had it replaced along with the keypad under warranty and it felt a lot better, much more clicky than it was.

Ive checked the firmware version and Im on the latest as far as I can tell, so thats that one out.
I was thinking exactly what you said too about the voice mail, but you try telling that to some Indian call centre!   Anyway, to cut a long story short, I launched the phone at the wall last night in anger, but surprisingly, that didnt help. Its insured, so I said I have fallen over with it in my pocket and landed on it and its all smashed up. New phone will be here Mon or Tues next week. Result

They aint. Similar maybe.
joystick is dodgy on my k750i too, however im due an upgrade next month. The only problem i have with these phones is the ease with which the screen is scratched. The one bonus with clam phones.
i have the K750i and i'm very impressed with it. i love the camera on it and it has a fair size memory card on board! it is however quite flimsie and creeks a lot! i keep mine in my pocket most of the time and when you spend most of you're day jumping in and out of tractors and also wrestling sheep it fairs quite well in my opinion! the build quality is not as good as my experience with nokias tho! oh and its survived a 40mph slide down the road in my jacket pocket taking full impact from my bulk tothe road!
