View Full Version : Is Your Hair Long Or Short ?
You mucky lot......................I'm talking about your hair :D
I keep mine very short.................in fact, I use clippers on a number 5 setting. Not just because I don't get helmet hair that way, but as a personal choice. I haven't had long hair for over 20 years..............just couldn't be @rsed with having to keep tying it up for work :D
How do you have yours?
Mine used to be long until I started working about *cough* *cough* years ago. Now it's short and messy, but at least I've no grey hairs and my hair's longer than Scoobs!!!
Yup, I use clippers, number one all over or less  during the summer. I used to have a yard of wig for ages, got rid of it back in 97 and realized it did not suite me. Never found anything that did though, saved a fortune in shampoo

I keep it shaved down, get me mum to have a go with the clippers without any guard, presume its a 0. Had it like this for years now, left over from an old job.
I can't see the point of hair. Doesn't do much for us anymore, we've evolved past its use; if I'm cold I'll wear a hat.
Looking forward to loosing it all, less maintance. But I'm open to suggestions for a new style. And before the comedians start, yes I've had a Mad Max, and no I don't mean a mullet!

I've had 2 haircuts in the last... 8 years, I think. Though I trim it a little, when it needs it. It falls out as fast as it grows now
Silver (NOT grey), no.3, at least I still have some :geek:

Number 1 trim all over. Best decision I ever made.
mine usually short and spikey cos of the helmet hair thing.
lately i've been trying to grow it but i'm getting peeved with it already cos its at the inbetween stage
Number one all over - have done since I was 17 years old - pictures of me before then remind me why!
Mine's just longer than shoulder length atm... and in need of sorting out. Split ends, highlights grown out, too much falling out...
Will probably stay shoulder lengthish... but will have to see what my hairdresser says. She is the great hair oracle. She knows all.

No 1 all over. and I still feel it is too long.
No 2 or 3 depending on which bit I can find for the clippers.
Stoped using shampoo 3-4 months ago as an experiment to see if my hair would clean itself.
Hair smells a bit now.
it has been suggested that I should use some cleaning products on my scalp but that would detract from the whole not washing it thing I've got going on.....
Fabreeze is my helmet's best friend.

Shaved to the bone for me also. I have compensated recently by growing a goatie which has highlights! (ok,okit has grey in it!) :P
I've always had short hair, I'd like long hair but I cant be bothered messing about in the morning.
I did used to sport a bit of a dodgy quiff when I was a lad
I think it will only be a few more years before I go to the grade 1 all over as my hairline is steadily sneaking back. I'm prolongong this as long as possible as I look like an escaped mental patient with a skinhead. :D
Mine was just down past my bum kinda long, but I was wearing it tied up more often then not to keep the sides out of my eyes.
So, shaved just the sides (no5) and gave the rest a few inches of trim and that was cool n groovy for a few weeks. Prior to that I hadn't had it cut for about 15 years, hardly any split ends though.
The worst thing about long hair in summer is how hot it makes me down my back. I can't wear it outside my leathers or it'll be a tangled knot after a couple of miles. Tucked into my leathers and it's just so goddamn hot down my back. So I've jsut ended up tieing it up again all summer.
I'm finally giving serious consideration to cutting it all off.
Mine was shoulder length until just recently and not is quite short - growing it again ready for the hairdresser to decide what to do with it next time

Almost shoulder length till two weeks ago, was falling off at a prety scary pace, now it's short. It keeps falling off, but now I don't notice that much, I'm saving on shampoo and the mornings are quite easier.

As said many times on this thread, number one all over ( my head). The wife hates it. She says it makes me look like a thug.
Just reverting to type then!!
Shoulder length now.
Used to be down to my knees and baby blonde then cropped it, dyed every colour under the sun then back to black
Desperate to have it long again - looking at hair extensions - how do they fair under helmets??

Make your helmet very tight, friend of mine had them for a long time and then had them removed now her helmet (whilst bought with them in) is too big for her.
I dont think she had any problem with the lid damaging them or anything.
Out of laziness I havnt got it cut in over a year and a half... its now down to shoulders. Ah well.
One day ill shave it off.

Used to be long when a young tearaway. Now I just go for the "through the hedge backwards" look.Mullet collar length with bits that stick up and out as they see fit.Helmet hair is thus not really an issue.
Number 1 all over...my daughter likes it that way. She says it feels funny

No 1 all over at the moment, hate the limp, lifeless look when I take the helmet off in this weather, will grow it a bit over the winter to go with the grey streaked goatee

clippers on number 1, every 3-4 weeks. sometimes I shave with a razor for the ultra smooth dome. nice
Short, but still long enough to get helmet hair. Makes life fun when our clients come in shirt & tie (as does everyone else when we have clients on site), and theres me, bike gear, and helmet hair :D
Clippers usually on either a 6 or an 8 every so often.
mine is just about shoulder length
no its not.
its very short n spikey atop, grade 3 sides and back

Ever thought about putting it in plaits??
That's what I do when I'm on the bike cos my hair is down to about my shoulder blades, that way its out of the way, keeps it tidy too.
I like it long, I can put it up if I want to or have it hanging down, plus Paul likes it when I put it in bunches! :D

Plaits are worse, then it's like having this annoying hot rope down the back of my leathers. Because it's all different lengths too little bits stick out all the way down the plait - under my jacket they then really dig in and itch all down my spine.
I do tend to plait it at night though - stops me choking to death on my own hair.
I guess the only thing that stops me cutting it all off is that I can't remember if it suited me short or not!
I s'pose if it doesn't I could always just wear my hat for the next 14 years!

Why do guys like bunches? It's always puzzled me...
Prior to that I hadn't had it cut for about 15 years, hardly any split ends though.
How! I have so many, advice please

Um, dunno really. Just the way my hair is I guess - rather fine, straight and fly away. :smt102
Er, I don't bother with conditioner, and only go for a fancy shampoo if it smells nice. I also don't wash it with shampoo that often, maybe once or twice a week. Just water the rest of the time.
I s'pose I could cut it all off and have it made into a wig - I would have the best of both worlds then. :P
