Nah, what you really need is a video of the road, unfortunately the view from befind the bubble and the vibed from the bike would not help.

The fact is it really is a cracking road, parts of it you can see for huge distances that enable you (not me of course being the well balanced and placid member of the group 8) ) to overtake on bends and have some real good fun.

Some say that reports state that some local riders enjoy it sooo much that they don't get to the end till morning and then looking very tired.

Strange you are saying that...

Its a plan of mine... I can borrow a video camera off my boss.. if his wife lets me!

All I need is one of those mounting doodas to fit it to the tank.. and make sure my screen is clean, so it can see through it!

VB,

Is that Talybont or Pont Sticill in the background on those photos?

Rather than guess I'm PM'ing you.

Not either of those.. but not all that far from them either..

if you look at a map book, find penderyn, the road runs from Penderyn up towards the resevoirs next to the A470....

Quite a few good roads in that direction when you know where they are

So, I ride 140 miles to and from Bristol to ride a 7.9 mile section.
Seems completely reasonable to me!

Cheers VB.

p.s. "Safety" Camera's?

none on that section of road... at all... though I cant guarantee against mobile cameras... never seen any on 1000 sheep road though ever.

If you are going to do that run, give me a shout.... may as well do a tour of a few more roads than just that one! if you go to Abergavenny via Usk... taking the old bridge to Chepstow first... nice little run from there... plus plenty of roads to choose from then.. Im sure some of the Bristol lot would tag along as well....

You won't see any for two reasons:

1. No KSI accidents (sheep don't count in the statistics!)
2. Motoplod close it occasionally for their high-speed pursuit training (120mph+ )

though I cant guarantee against mobile cameras... never seen any on 1000 sheep road though ever.

Nor me. See reason 1 above.

Yeah.... be silly not to take in The Rhigos and The Bwlch

I was doing over a ton on it with a pillion last time I took someone out on the bike  Though you do have to be silly to go any faster during the summer months.. simply due to the fact of so many sheep wandering about the place...

Could arrange a 'little' jaunt from Abergavenny.. to Llandovery for food.. then back towards Brecon, onto 1000 sheep road, and continue up over the Rhigos, Bwlch etc....

Sadly.. Ive gotten bored of it.. so tend to travel long distances to find new uncharted territory to try out... the bit between the A40 and Lampeter is VERY good.. but its about 50 odd miles away from me...

You should try Bristol city centre on a Firday or Saturday night. Ride up through Park Street and Whiteladies Road, check out all the scantilly clad ladies (even in mid winter) then on up to the "downs" by the suspension bridge to scare the resident doggers. That's a different kind of scenic
