View Full Version : Old mans Benelli Tornado
Met up with my old man and one of his friends tonight. Took a few pictures.
He let me have a ride, but i've bottled it. It was getting dark, loads of bikes around, not worth it, he'd cry if i dropped it  Another time though ;)

Oi! There's something wrong about those pics. :-k
Ohh I know what it is, there are no Vauxhalls in the frame!!!
Very very nice - although who would choose yellow over that delicious silver/green scheme?! :?
The tank always looks really viscious on those things.

My thoughts exactly
The green/silver is the nicest IMHO. Hope that one's yer dad's
Yeah his is the green and silver one.
The yellow one is newer, just before Benelli went bust (they went bust as they put everything into WSB). The companys been re-bought again though.
YEllow one is an RS model, note the front brakes and suspension is much thicker.
Everythings matched on the bike, key forb, footrests, hangers, mirrors, indicators etc etc, all a triangular shape and keeps in theme. He's just having new exhaust hangers made up getting rid of the footpegs for the Benelli owners. Should be done in a few days, will get more snaps.

Definitely a bike to make sure that the brakes arent too sharp!
I was seriously looking at one before deciding on the cbr, just too many reliability stories, but gorgeous bikes

Oh now they are lovely 8) 8)
Never liked them. Prefer the TNT myself :D
Ian, yeah, on the early models there were a few issues, but they were sorted on the later models. In fact, my old man needs to take the clutch casing off to check on the of splines behined it, needs to be 8mm, the ones prone to breaking (thus stopping oil travel = BANG) are 6mm. Its done a few thousand miles now, including a trip to Italy, then 2 days hard track action at Misano, then the ride home.
The tank looks much worse than it is, yout "manly" bits sit below it ;)
Viney, TT, is that the streetfighter version of the Benelli, he wants on of those too. He's got two other bikes as well
Jelous, me, nope not at all  :?
