A923 Butterstone YEEHAR!!!!

Any you guys ever rode the A923 Dunkeld to Blairgowrie? If the Dukes is anything like this then it should be a feckin scream.

12 miles of nothing but zig zags, hairpins, twisties and a couple of potential wheelie opportunities.

Stumbled on this tonight be pure luck when I went to see my mate tonight.

Starts off as a short climb past the Glack forest trail then straight into a series of VERY tight s bends up the hill. Over and its the same on the other side but 4 times as long. From here its just bend after bend and twisties for 12 miles. 2nd gear all the way except for two straights about 2-300 yds long.

When I got to the Blairgowrie end - quick call to the mate and told him I would be late so I went back and did it again...and again....and again...and again..and again...and again.

It was sooooo good that on one bend I got my first toe down!!!!!

3 hours later and arrived at the mates door standing with my left boot in my hand grinning from ear to ear.

Cheers!

How does it compare to the DP & WW? If they're as good as this then next week will be a holiday for sure :D

Try going over that road with an artic during the winter time - the council seems to forget it exists, and it makes for a lot of wheel spinning with a 45 foot trailer on the other side of the road going round the tight bends. Then you watch the oncoming tourists in their cars screetching to a halt in terror on bends as I'm negotiating an artic over that road    (Sometimes using the entire road....)Then they give me the headlight flashing and victory signs in disgust.
What do I do - use even more road width and go slower to really **** them off....
The tourists should use the main A9 or the A984 instead....

Have done it myself on a bike too - flamin' brilliant bit of road for a bike and a sports car. It's just loony tourists and unfortunate HGV's that spoil the road for following traffic - there's no places to stop and pull over..

How sad am I???

Went up again this afternoon and dragged my mate along on his cbr. What a ****ing hoot!

I did the whole road in 2nd gear. We get to the end of the first run and my mate pulls up beside me to tell me he thinks my brake lights weren't working. Nah that'smy superior engine braking.

He was braking like a ******* all the way round and after 2 runs he'shinting at a shot of my coyote

Aweseome road, not a soul on it bar the odd pheasant and some local free range chickens. Bit dusty on some of the bends.
