...but this time its me.

You lucky, lucky bunch.

Owned an old '92 NSR for nearly 2 years, but hardly rode it as its kept at my parents house (no garage at mine...yet).

Passed my DAS first time with 4 days left on my CBT...ahem. Why do some of us leave it so long?

Before I took any lessons I went through the list of bikes I wanted (based on looks alone in the first instance I might add - R6, GSX-R and ZX6) and ended up looking long and hard at the SV following one of many chats with my brother.

So after passing my test on 12th July I waited a sensible amount of time before bike shopping. I waited until the 14th. Test ride on the 18th and picked up my bike on Aug 1st. Its a pointy blue one.

I have used any and every excuse in the last 4 weeks to get out on two wheels. I have never looked at the sky so much and been utterly disheartened by big black clouds.

So here I am...tell me everthing I need to know and I promise not to boil your pet in rice pudding and sell it on eBay as a piece of modern art. Honest.

'ello

you've got 2 years to send off your test certificate to get your full licence, so don't wait until there are 4 days to go (like I did  )

My quick and your quick may well be two entirely different speeds.

Just got my bike past its first 500 mile run in stage and opened the throttle. I nearly made a mess on the seat...

Hope thats fast enough or I may be in trouble...

My licence went as soon as I had all my other documentation sorted. Should be back in another week or so.

Welcome matey, good to see another rocker/metaller here! You into much of the metal scene in Stoke? Do you know a short git called Dan who is in Imindain and is from Stoke? I went there to see Vomit Remnants and Godless truth a while ago.

Thats about all I know about Stoke :)

I also have a blue pointy, welcome to the "fastest sv" club :P

Yeah, I know Dan. Not very well though - enough to say hi in passing. Imindain aren't really my thing but I have seen them once and I thought they were pretty good.

VR and GT are a bit on the heavy side for me, being a bit of a jessie I like more classic / AOR stuff. I can feel an explanation of AOR may be in order...

Dr Rich - my hair is my own. It's a bum-hair comb-over.

BILLY - I already got the lowers, R+G bungs, hugger, fenda extenda (terrible name!!!) and single seat cowl. When my old NSR is sold I will put some of the cash to a new tail tidy and end can.

So it wasn't just me then? :D Nice choice of bike amnesia, and you'll find that the more you ride, the faster you want to go, and you won't be able to wait until the 1000mile mark! Well, that's if you're anything like me that is.

I'm just now starting to get comfortable riding on my private runway at speeds that are honestly stupid. But it gives me a big smile and it's all straight line stuff (has anyone seen a round runway?!?!)

If you haven't already, you'll quickly develop a dislike of car drivers just like those pesky grey things that are always over my head :(

Anyway, welcome on board!

Haha good thing you don't know him well, he's a grumpy sod :P
I'm not such a fan of doom either, more into speedy gothenburg metal, black, death and power metal too. And of course all the classic rock stuff that I grew up on!

Perhaps someone stole it out of my bin and made a wig out of it.

The best tip I can give it invest a few quid and a snood thing - I've seen 'em in most bike shops.
Their like a regular fleece neckwarmer thing, but then have a long tube of thin stretchy material attached that you wear on yer head instead of round your neck. (Mine make's me look like I've got a blue head with tattoos of Sylvester and Tweetie on it. )
Keeps your hair back and in place and totally avoids those annoying little tendrils that always creep forwards and get in your eye or up your nose.

Mind you, I don't need to worry about that now. I can also eat an ice cream without having to face into the wind! :P

Kate - that sounds brill must go and get one of them - my hair is very long now but layered right through - even if I plait it, the upper layers still fly about  - but that tube thingy would solve the problem - well done that girl!! 8) :D
