Hi all,
Been quoted £60 to have my carbs on my K1 (51 reg) balanced.
Is that about right - seems a lot to me as no parts are involved and it only takes 5 mins to remove the airbox to get at the carbs.

You can buy a Haynes manual, a set of tools and the gauges for that

This is true... Carb balancing gauges are pretty cheap, and you only pay the once!!!!

I've got a question about this as well - Can the 4 x gauges be used on a twin or do you have to use the twin gauge?

If it's the former then I think I'd rather spend the extra and buy the 4 as you never know what may be sitting in my garage in the future!

Banus, what garage quoted you that? I was thinking about getting mine done but haven't started to ask around yet? Though looking at the prices of the guages and stuff it does seem more sensible to try and do it myself.

It's fairly time consuming if you don't have the extra plumbing fitted. Not £60 time consuming, IMO, but it takes longer than you'd think. Takes me about 2 minutes now. Well, plus 20 minutes to find the gauges, and 10 minutes to find the thing I plug the hose with after I've lost it.
