Amazingly, it seems no-one's ever done this poll, not if you believe the search facility anyway...

So, I want to know which bike mags you like to read (because I'm nosey  ) and which is your favourite.

I tend to read TWO, Bike, and Ride most months, and sometimes Performance Bikes too. Favourite is TWO, seems to be the most balanced, has some good articles, reviews a broad spectrum of bikes.

Vote away...

O yes they have... O no they haven't... Behind you etc.

I think it has been done but I'd guess the position changes with changes in mags and change in forum membership...

I voted Streetfighters... TWO and PB are probably "better" but I prefer the content in 'fighters. PB gets better as TWO gets worse, I think.

And Practical Performance Car. OK, not a bike mag, but it's a great laugh. Also, you have to admire a mag called "Practical Performance Car" that has, as two of its ongoing feature cars, a Rolls Royce trackday car and a Rover SD1 with a 27 litre tank engine.

I like the no frills approach PB have seemd to adopt recently. Just articles no bullsh*t. There was a really good piece a while ago about how to setp suspension also they had a setup guide for quite a few models of bike. Including mine most useful.

T.W.O is definately going downhill. Bike can be quite good now and again and often has some really good stuff on how to ride better in it.

Sometimes I buy Motorcycle Sport & Leisure to. I havent for a whle though it started to send me to sleep.

I'm not so keen on the fact that the entire motorcycling press are now saying that the GSXR-750 is the best thing since sliced bread though.

Well it won't be MCN getting my vote

As Steve W says, I think it has been done before, just may have been so long ago its fallen off the forum..

If I buy a mag it will usually be Ride or Bike mainly because theyre reveiwing something Im interested in and I still hold some faith in their reviews - particularly when they use rider reviews. None of this make it up to give our advertisers the best reviews that MCN seem to have resorted to [the recent chain test is case in point if anyone wants to argue on that  :P  ].

I voted none as I don't read any of them (unless I am at Sid Squids house, I swear his house is held together with bike journalism  )

I buy PB and BiKE mostly but if there's an article that grabs me I'll buy anything.
I buy MCN most weeks but I usually just read it at work during lunch. It's not a favorite, it's just there.

I agree, they're rubbish aren't they

Keep it up Northy. :D Maybe I should start writing into the Mags telling them how rubbish a 750 is. I liked it that you didnt see many 750's on the road and now they are getting more common it its just not on I tell you.

I have never yet bought a bike mag. The lads at work do so there is normally something to read. We always have Bike as one of the lads ha a subscription to it and I think thats the best mag. Superbike is worth a read too.

Bike, usually...
I do tire of their continued GSXR1000 and KTM worship though

I get Bike every now and then as they have some bits on how to ride and stuff.

Yes, their advanced riding stuff is pretty good. It's like an IAM/Police Roadcraft book based on "realistic" rather than "by the book" safe riding.

Easy one this

MCN is tabloid hell
BIke is dull as f*%k and seems obsessed with how "quirky" BMW's are
Ride lost all content when Lissa left (and big fuzzy **** took over)
Streetfighters, whilst featuring some amazing atricles and bikes, is too obsessed with waving its balls around to prove how Manly it is
and TWO has always sat on the coat tals of the EMAP collective and failed to do anythign different enough to note attention

though PB.... just doesnt seem to care. It does stuff relating to bikes and enjoys it, then every month they publish what they did and maybe someone buys it. They revel in the details of biking not the power figures, not the big new shiny things, not the latest factory press thing. They just like bikes and they hope you do to.

I agree with that philosophy.

i've just cancelled my subs to T.W.O.

the last 5 editions remain unopened in their protective film. keep them for a few years and i reckon i'll be able to flog 'em on ebay for upwards of 45p a go i reckon
